Houston opened a roster spot on Jan. 7 by trading guard Michael Carter-Williams to the Chicago Bulls, presumably to make a traditional contract for House possible (also to evade a tax hit). House has been one of the Rockets’ better performers as both Chris Paul (hamstring) and Eric Gordon (knee) recover from injury. https://rocketswire.usatoday.com/2019/01/15/houston-rockets-danuel-house-contract-negotiations/
He hasn't been around long enough to be a journeyman. There's some potential w/ him. Yes he has been in a good situation with Harden, but look closer than that & all the tools are there for House to be a good role player no matter what team he's on.
Clark has seemed more effective as a 4 though. Doesn't seem to have the footspeed to play the 3 consistently.
MCW - like multiple other players on non-guaranteed contracts around the league that day - was sent packing because it was the day his contract would become guaranteed. Same reason the Bulls waived him immediately, before incurring any obligation to guarantee the remainder of his contract.
Who the hell is even suiting up for the Rockets HArden - Rivers - Ennis/Clark - Tucker and Nene HArtenstein/Green/Clark/Ennis off the bench Rocket River
is there any quality players available out there?? melo looks unstoppable in that fitness gym in new york
He has bounced around enough to warrant the distinction of Journeyman, IMO. I do agree with House's potential. He can be good. I don't think he will ever get a chance he has here in Houston though.. It will be tough for House to start anywhere else in this league.. He was already solidifying his position and he is derailing his opportunity. TAKE THE CASH DANNY!
@J.R. is right. this front office just keeps getting more pathetic as the season progresses. completely wasting harden's epic prime years.
This sucks. You have two injury prone major rotation players on the roster in Paul and Gordon and House was a blessing that fell into your lap and he could be headed back to the G-league? House and Rivers alongside Harden have kept this team afloat. Now they are looking at falling back on Ennis' sorry ass? Just stupid.
Surprise, surprise. Huge gamble on their part. It does suck for us in the short term since he played so well. I'm bummed out since I enjoyed watching him play. Oh well.
Yeah honestly it hurts both team and player. In situations like that you'd hope a common ground could be found.
