    1) I don't give a crap about how much money Fertitta and Morey need to spend to improve their team, and neither should you.
    2) House is definitely greedy and thinks highly of himself, which bites a player in the ass a lot of times. If the Rockets just offered him a Gary Clark-sized contract, then I would understand, but if they're offering him more and he doesn't accept, then it's all on him.
    3) You need a wing that can defend and shoot in the Playoffs. You Rockets fans are delusional if you think Gerald Green or a barely-productive Shumpert are better options.

sucks he's still in limbo. at this point i doubt he would get many playoff minutes. surely he missed a great opportunity to really come in and show case his skills.

He is betting on himself, that's all. He could of came back on the team under Morey's terms, but that meant getting locked up on a cheap deal pretty much at the prime of his career. It's possible that he may be able to get a better deal in Europe or that his agent could sucker somebody into giving him $5M contract for a couple of years. His agent is negotiating from a position, you either pay my client the money we believe he deserves or just convert us to a minimum deal contract and let us go find the money we want in the market during the offseason.

Morey damn well knows he isn't going to get a player of House's caliber easily for cheap, therefore, he is trying to squeeze him and his agent. It's a gamble on the Rockets part as well, but the bigger gamble is with House and his agent. The sample size is not that big, but the sample size is big of him not making it in this league thus far.

It will be interesting to see how this ends.

It ends with nobody remembering House a year from now. At that point CFs will have moved on to another "newer" player. Happens every year!

Is there too much bad blood between House and the Rockets, or can we sign this dude soon and everybody gets to blame it "just business"?

C'mon, the more able bodies we have, the better.

Clause of Clark contract 1.4 million salary
If Clark plays one playoffs game, tilman will have to pay luxury tax.

i think if he plays in the playoffs then next season's salary becomes fully guaranteed, which has no bearing on this season's lux tax

doesnt really matter. at the end of the day, the money isn't always gonna be there. it can come and go that fast.

Oh that’s the excuse now. Not going all out ok.

Doesn’t really matter. The bet is already there. So in a few months we’ll see if he made the right choice to turn down guaranteed money or not. What you say at this point makes no difference

Bobby Marks said a few hours ago:

"The salary protection for Gary Clark is now locked in at $708,426 for the 2019-20 season. The Houston forward had a clause in his contract that would have guaranteed his full salary ($1.4M) if he appeared in more than 36 games and either played in one playoff game or waived by April 10. Despite Clark appearing in 41 games this season, 21 were played under his Two-Way contract."

i could see us in game 7 of the WCF down to 7 bodies in the 4th and tilman screaming at the scorer's table from the stands "don't check him in -- DON'T CHECK HIM IN!!!!!!"

If it weren't so late, I'd whip up a Photoshop of the scorer's table with Clark about to check in, and Tilman clinging to his shin a la JVG. :D

Since Clark won't hit 36 games played this season, we can play him as much (or as little) as we'd like without his 2019-20 salary changing

Ok there us no Harden but its also the GLeague. If Hartenstein and TJones can dominate the GLeague without a Hardenesque gravitational pull then House should do it too if he is an NBA player.

Playing like a scrub in the GLeague wont do a lot for his NBA chances would be really surprised if he gets more than what the Rox were offering him to begin with.

Yeah and as a GLeague starter, he is shooting 30% from 3.

The reality is the sample size is too small to determine how good he really is. An NBA player shooting 48% would shoot 60% in the GLeague not half that.
