Dolan just needs to sell the team, then JVG will come back and fix them.

Life is going to be a lot different without Steve Nash running the offense. Anybody penciling in the Knicks for the playoffs is deluded. They still have a $100 million dollars of fat, selfish post players who have *never* played defense. The Bobcats and Bucks could jump in the playoff picture in the East next year, but it is going to take Walsh a while to overturn all of the damage caused by Isiah.

I agree. The thing is many people believe that the critical, harsh sports fans in New York are what all sports fans should be like. Somehow they think it will make your team better. Obviously it does not.

Just to clarify. Are you saying that Nate, DLee, and Balkman are the 3 most likely players to be traded?

BTW, Phoenix got rid of QRich under D'Antoni.

Zbo and Starbury do not fit anywhere. ZBo is the biggest can of garbage I've seen in a long time. Total losers there.

I don't think he would have signed on if there weren't intentions for a full fledged makeover this offseason. That or the money.

heres an excerpt from a newspaper article:

does this provide any indication that nash will be considering leaving the club?

I honestly don't believe that the Knicks will make themselves over this season. According to this blog (http://blogs.jsonline.com/bucks/archive/tags/Zach+Randolph/default.aspx), the Bucks rejected a trade of Zach Randolph & Fred Jones for Bobby Simmons, Charlie Bell, and Dan Gadzuric. Bobby Simmons will be paid $10 for the next 2 years after averaging 8 points and 3 rebounds. Gadzuric will be paid $6 million for the next 3 season after averaging 3 points and 3 rebounds this season. AND YET THE BUCKS WOULD STILL NOT DO THIS TRADE. Forget about expiring contracts, teams won't even trade for Randolph even at the benefit disposing albatross contracts. I think Curry is nearly just as immovable. The only changes I predict for the team are a young player through the draft and perhaps the buy-out of Marbury.

This crappily made image is a good approximation of the Knicks Offense, 2008-2009.

At least if the Knicks makes the play-offs, he won't see the Spurs until the NBA Finals. ;)

Seriously though I would not leave the coaching gig in Phoenix for the mess that is the Knicks.

I wonder how this will turn out. The Knicks don't play defense, but neither does D'Antoni. So that's a big plus. But the Knicks don't run either, and D'Antoni isn't exactly a wiz at half-court offense. So I'm wondering how he'll handle the two black holes inside.

why is everyone obsessed with Jeff Van Gundy and the New York Knicks connection?

the coaching carousel goes round and round constantly. JVG jumped off the Knicks horse a long time ago and I don't see him going back anytime soon.

I'm just pointing out, D'Antoni gets hired and we are STILL hooked on JVG saving the Knicks?

I highly doubt JVG would want to take over a team with head cases like Marbury, Curry, Randolph, ect. None of those guys arnt exactly the hard working selfless defensive players that JVG likes.

I wonder how D'antoni would deal with stuff like this

The fact that the Bucks stuttered on one trade offer has nothing to do with whether or not the KNICKS will retool this year. There's a whole list of reasons to balk at that trade offer, it doesn't signify some larger ideology around the league's GM offices that Knick players are useless at any cost, and thus unmoveable.

I'm not saying the Knicks are stocked with assloads ammunition to fire off some genius blockbuster trades and immediately turn the franchise around, but I think you are crazy if you think D'Antoni coaches last year's team.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Nash going to New York, because he loves living there. He can go pretty much anywhere and almost fit in. I saw him two times in tribeca and he was skateboarding once and running to starbucks the other time.
