James Harden had more ISO plays on his own last season... than 9 entire NBA teams had for all their players. D'Antoni is going to change that.
To be honest im excited about this Dantoni/Hollins/Kalamian Trio. 2 great defensive minds with a great offensive mind. All we gotta do is keep these men in check
I'll believe this when I see it. Even Finch said that the breakdown into ISO-ball a year or so ago towards the end of games was not because of the offense since the offense demands otherwise, but rather because the players gravitated towards it and they needed to get away from it. This year it seemed to get worse.
Doesn't really matter if Harden doesn't like and/or listens to the coach. Melo didn't like him, but did like Mike Woodson.
This is not going to end well. By the way, Pringles said the Rockets already run his offense ( a lot of teams do now), and more to the point, Pringles couldn't get Kobe nor Melo to buy into it. Not sure he will get Harden to either.
Well maybe if we had a center who wanted to pick and roll it wouldn't break down into ISO ball. The Rockets have a talent problem. With JB there was a coaching problem while D'antoni is not my first choice he is still at least a competent coach. Morey needs to get to work on that roster. We need better shooters and bigs who can pick and roll and rebound. Having bigs who can shoot mid range shots wouldn't hurt either.
We set thousands of high screens for Harden this season... That was our primary play other than straight ISO
That's not quite what he said. He said the Rockets were trying to use Dwight in the same way he tried to use Dwight in L.A. That doesn't mean the Rocket were running his offense.
Harden is closer to Nash than Melo in my opinion in terms of being a distributor. I think the biggest thing this pair has got going is the PNR.
Harden doesn't have the vision that Nash has. Harden is a unique player. He gets most of his points by driving, Nash scored because you had to respect his passing, he didn't finish at the rim like Harden does.
This. When Beasley joined the team and Harden saw that there was another player on the team that could create a decent shot he passed him the ball.

True, Harden doesn't and more than likely won't have Nash's vision. However, Harden can run the PNR very well which is what elevated Nash and Lin. I expect some mean picks set by Harrell.
