The main problem with Mike Dantoni is that Mike never played in the NBA, only in Italian League.

The Euroleague style of his plays seems flawed, his lack of IQ in the playoffs, in game substitutions have been poor, plus his 6 man rotation, Chris Paul playing over 38 minutes, Eric Gordon over 38 minutes injury prone players, overextending them in order to break down in Game 5.

Rudy Tomjanovich was an All Star and would have Hall of Famer as a player, unfortunately Kermit injured Rudy. Rudy knows about the NBA playoffs, as a player.

Rudy Tomjanovich, Great GM in Steve Patterson, bad move by Les in firing him, Rudy trusting Rookies like Sam Cassell, Robert Horry in the playoffs separates Greatness, to a Overrated Coach, a GM only analytics players that are flawed.

In all fairness, Rudy wasn't considered a great coach until he won a title or two. And most of the coaches currently spoken of as "great" have never even won a title: Brad Stevens, Quin Snyder, etc. The media anoints guys they like, and the rest of them have to earn it like Rudy did.
