not true. average, sure. very much like the Spurs last year.

during D'Antoni's 3 years (pre Shaq trade) the Suns were very competitive in the postseason.
All three times, they lost crucial games to equally amazing teams where the Suns missed one of their best players. That's not a system problem.

    None sense.

Everyone has a price, double Mike Budenholzer's current salary and see if he will pass. Houston is only 3 hours away by car. If he spends the extra money on a Corvette, 2 hours, and plenty left to pay for his speeding tickts!

D'Antoni looked good because Nash. He isn't a good coach.

I like D'Antoni but this sounds like wishful thinking based on connecting dots.

To drag him away from Popovich and a team that is top 4 in there conference. I have problems believing that money could sway him but you never know.

I just wonder what D'antoni can do with the players we have now. With their ability to pass and no real ball stopper, I bet they could run and gun with anyone. Would be a fun thing to watch if anything.

same here. It would be stupid of him to go to a mid-tier team to do the same job for double money, instead of looking at the big picture. It's like going to China during the lockout.

Double money sounds nice on paper.
But he's going to get more than double soon. He's one of the highest regarded assistants in the league. He's going to get the main job and the big payday.

Not a D'Antoni fan myself. His teams seam to run a lot but not enough defense in his coaching style. Would LOVE to see Les open the checkbook for old Jackson. Would also love to see Larry Bird as the coach, GM, Vice Prez or whatever he wanted to be.

He wouldn't coach (very bad back and shoulder, traveling a lot is too hard for him). But I suspect he'd love to be the GM on a big(ish) market team that's willing to go into the luxury tax.

that said, you don't have that opening. he wouldn't come to be under Morey, it's the main job or nothing.

Shouldn't everyone still arguing and keeping this thread alive get the ban hammer?

That is the beauty of being able to put people on ignore. I know you said something, but since I know most of your posts hold no merit or they have the board appreciation value of your common troll, I don't have to see it and I don't give a flying fart in space about it!! I am sure if you are one of the tools arguing for Mike 'Antoni (D is missing because he does not coach it), I nor anyone else with a basketball IQ over 2 cares to read it anyhow.

yup we cut Lin because we had 2 PG's who we thought were near all-star caliber players. if the Gasol trade had gone through, Lin would never have been cut and would never have gone to NYC. maybe we would have had our own Linsanity, who knows?

Should we get D'Antoni on our staff?

Yes this isn't a great topic, but many people really, really, really, really don't like McHale. His contract is over at the end of this season so why not? He has chemistry with Lin and he's one of the best coaches in the game. I say Houston should give D'Antoni a try. What do you think?

Usually, "many people" are the ones who are wrong or have no idea what they are talking about. The "few people" in the know are the ones who appreciate him and hired him. So, no.

Please get your facts straight. You are on the internet. Use it. So, no.

    Just, no.

    This:

    Right on!
