Now that the trade deadline has passed and he can’t be used as salary filler he should be waived. I’m sure they are at a stalemate with a buyout. If I were Exum I wouldn’t give up a dime. It kind of seems like he will never play basketball again which is a shame. At this point I would rather use the spot on a G-leaguer or someone from the euro or Australian league. Let’s see if we can get one of Tate’s old teammates.
I doubt he'll play, but if he does, I look forward to him being decent in game 1 and then seeing desperate CFers get excited and talk about how he could be a great find for us (a la KO).
He'd probably score 25 points in his first game due to some very welcomed sweet shooting and drives for dunks then go all Ray Spalding on us in the 3rd quarter of the same game for a collective ClutchFans FML sigh.
This 100 times. If I am not mistaken, if he were to sign somewhere else his new contract saves on our cap. (Not 100% sure if I read that right or not)
Imo hes a good player. Probably better than a lot of PGs in the playoffs atm. Biggest issue is his injuries. He's also quite slight. Not great for a guy who wants to get to the rim a lot. His shooting could improve too. But I think he's only played like 82 games in the last 4 years. His efg% is over .500 & he's a good defender. He can run an offence too. He should be in the NBA and will be a high quality back up PG if he can stay healthy. If he stays healthy maybe he even improves & becomes a starter.
I’m amazed that Gerald hasn’t been picked up by the Nets or Sixers. The guy deserves a ring and it would give me a reason to watch one of those teams in the playoffs.
His entire fate is connected to his shooting. There's probably no better place to learn how to shoot 3's than a team that is seemingly obsessed with them. I don't think he'll make it in time before his contract expires but who knows. What if he comes out shooting 40% from 3 on 3/4 attempts? It makes his drives a bit easier and he actually becomes a triple threat that can defend with a good all round game. A good SG/SF asset if it happens. I certainly hope he's doing nothing but shooting practice all day.
Was supposed to be ready at end of March, maybe had a setback or Rockets just being careful and patient. No need to rush him back.
I remember a lot of buzz about him when he was drafted, but it seems he has never lived up to the hype.
