Man I miss DP! I had no idea that he has a local show in LA now. I will be checking his site more often to listen to the show. By FAR the best radio show in the nation. It was the only show I listened to start to finish when he was on ESPN Radio.

    Thanks for the tip!

Great extensive interview by Dan Patrick, good questions of his part covering pretty much all areas from basketball to real life situations

t-mac, if you read this board:

Why would you draft jason kidd? He will kill you with FT and FG%.

You got it right with that KG thing though. Also, I'm not gonna pick you unless you start making your FTs.

If you wana use this as inspiration, please do. You gotta make the freebies.

Only DP can ask a question like "Is Kobe better than you?" and not come off like an a-hole :)

Also, the videos on his site are great.

No disrespect for the local guys, who do a fine job, but DP is on a whole other level as an interviewer. It takes a special special interviewer to get TMac to not sound boring. It's like getting Mo Taylor to hustle.

Very true regarding DP, in the T-mac interview he squeezed as much insight as possible out of him hitting on all topics. Not one question he asked T-mac was found boring

Dan Patrick is one of the best interviewers I've ever listened to. The question selection - excellent mix of entertaining/funny and tough/insightful questions, masterful flow of conversation ... I wish I could listen to this guy in the car every morning instead of Jim Rome and his tired self-congratulatory act.

I'm so proud of T-Mac. The Darfur segment was so painful to listen to -- I'm usually not a visualizing type of person but I could just visualize all those things as he was describing them -- almost brought tears to my eyes. Probably doesn't help that I'm African - although I haven't personally seen or experienced anything close to that, it's not hard for me to imagine. It's nice to see your local sports heroes standing up for things that matter in a day an age when other people are too busy concerned about building personal media empires and constructing their own personal casino in their backyard.

    There, I said my piece.

You should let your radio stations know that. I am sure that if its in syndication and people ask for it someone will pick it up. There is more than one sports radio station in Houston... surely someone can afford to pick up Dan Patrick.

Not to be a party pooper, but something Tmac said in the interview got me really worried. When Dan asked Tmac if he had the killer instinct, he replied:

    "I am what I am."

IMO, that's not acceptable coming from the star player of the team. Okay, our team is deep this year, so Tmac might not get nor need the 25/6/7 or whatever stats. However, I expect my star player to say, "I will do everything it takes to win."

I hope I'm just reading too much into this.

    Otherwise, a great interview.

    Exactly.

It bothers me when Tmac speaks some times. He seems to always say something that makes me say, "man, that guy needs to shut the f*ck up." Like his baseball comment either last year or the year before. Or when he was going through "family problems" and he kept bringing them up but wouldn't say what it was. It's like he wants people to feel sorry for him and pay attention to him all of the time.

I know I will probably get flamed for this, but I also think his cryfest at the end of Utah game seven was another cry for attention. I can't watch it because I feel so embarassed for him.

I think Tmac is exactly what this team needs as a player, but it bothers me when he talks sometimes.

Not going to "flame" you but I strongly disagree with most of that. TMac just seems more human than most sports stars/celebrities. Crying after Utah - you think he wanted people to see that? I can't even imagine what was said on other teams' boards about that. If he wanted attention he would be a Rasheed or Rodman type player. But obviously he is the opposite.

I just don't follow you on this one.

Yes. T-mac is a drama queen.
