and Granger is shooting an even worse 36% this year as a bench player no less. Against weaker 2nd unit players, I can't imagine how Turner can play worse than Granger so far.
Turner could score 20 points in certain games, and Granger can not even score 10 points at given game, Pacers need score, and Turner can do it.
The Rockets liked Granger when he was a good player.... not now, when he shouldn't even be in the NBA.
How did Indy "fail"? They saved money Added a rotation player (even if he is overrated) Moved a player that did not want to be in Indy and is playing terrible.
I think so. Also, keep in mind that 76ers were dangerously below the salary floor. They needed to take on salary, I believe.
guys..this is a win for pacers, big time. they need more offense, more guys who can score. their second unit now consists of Scola, Allen, Turner, Watson, and maybe even Andrew Bynum. that is DAMN good.
Personally, I think this is a good deal for the Pacers, but Haberstroh seems to disagree: <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Kinda feel like if the Turner/Granger deal happened this morning, we'd have very different opinions about it.</p>— Tom Haberstroh (@tomhaberstroh) <a href="https://twitter.com/tomhaberstroh/statuses/436607203228000256">February 20, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>I warned potential suitors about Evan Turner's glossy inflated stats in this Per Diem: <a href="http://t.co/3eYZDmvccD">http://t.co/3eYZDmvccD</a> [in]</p>— Tom Haberstroh (@tomhaberstroh) <a href="https://twitter.com/tomhaberstroh/statuses/436608856052203523">February 20, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> For those who don't have Insider:
I think They will call granger in the offseason once Lance is resigned and give him a decent contract. Bird is a pretty loyal person. According to Jalen, if you were bird guy, you were birds guy.
tom Haber-whatever...can say whatever. screw those stats. Just watch bball. Turner has way more ability to score the ball than Granger. He can be a weapon coming off the bench. It's a success if Turner gives the Pacers a consistant 14ppg..and has a couple of playoff games where he scores 20+ when no one else can seem to get it going.
Granger is washed up. Every time I've seen him this year he just can't seem to do anything right. Sure Evan Turner is overrated by many, but the Pacers get him basically for free. Maybe the chance to play meaningful games and win a championship will ignite him to raise his game to another level. Remember when the Rockets traded for Mike James?
