No he isn't, they are both on around the same level with Martin as well. He is maybe slightly better but not much. Replacing Brooks with Granger does not improve the chances of this team competing for a ring. Adding Granger to a team nucleus of Brooks, Martin, and Yao does. Two lottery picks, Ariza, Bud, Lull would be a lot to offer the Pacers

no need for sarcasm its a valid thread.. I think that would be a steal if that would be all we gave up.. we could use talents for sure and add that cheap backup C and we're championship contenders.. but thats mayb wishful thinking unless theres minor rumblings from Moreys camp otherwise I dont wana get excited for nothing

In all of the Granger threads over the last year, I still have yet to see a valid rationale explaining why Indiana would be looking to trade their best player for spare parts.

I don't feel like trading AB for Granger would really improve our team.

It would be like taking out Martin, and playing Ariza. Aaron Brooks is a huge scoring punch for us. Remember he led the league in 3ptrs while shooting at 39.8%. Granger only shot 36.1%.

If anybody should be shipped out, it should be Ariza and Lowry for Granger. We need those 3 point shooters to surround Yao. If we keep AB then we will have shooters at every position... Shooters that get to the line very well at that.

Granger is way better than Brooks. He does basically everything Brooks can do on offense (including shoot 3's) and even manages to get to the line alot, something Brooks is not very good at. The only thing he doesn't do is garner big assist #'s, but then again, neither does Brooks for a point guard. And unlike Brooks (and Martin) he actually deigns to play defense and is recognized to be rather good at it- that alone gives him an advantage.

Look, im not saying trade Jeffries and Battier for him. That's asinine if you think that will pry him away from Indiana.

We can offer them also Brooks, Budinger, our draft picks, Hill and possibly dangle Martin just to catch their attention.

We can get it done too. We probably would have to get back on of their bad contracts like Ford.

Bird is a reasonable man and I think he is well prepared to lose Granger with the drafting of Paul George.

Where exactly is Indiana going with Granger as their franchise player?

Also what people don't seem to understand is that Granger is actually a pretty good defender and a good shotblocker for his position.

Brooks, Bud, draft picks AND Martin? Are you insane? That would turn Houston into a perennial lottery team.

Yeah, sometimes you just have to realize that you have to move on and start looking elsewhere. They can start to rebuild around Paul George and possibly Aaron Brooks. Roy Hibbert is also someone who they can rebuild around as well.

So we dump about half of rotation just to get a freaking Granger? I thought you were talking about LeBron.

Are people really comparing a PG to a SF???

The question is not who is better, the question is WHO PLAYS PG???

This is like trading YAO for Durant, and justify it saying that Durant is better then YAO, ignoring the fact, that after that we don´t have a C

It is not a matter of who is better, it´s a matter of who do we need to improve our roster

We can´t trade our entire bench players for Granger, or a martin/AB for him, just because Granger is better then all of those

Lowry can easily replace Brooks. We can also take back Ford as well. He is a pretty decent point guard. And he is from Houston as well.

ok i hate the idea of aaron brooks and kevin martin playing together. one has to be moved, yeah they both had some nice 30 point games together at the end of the season. still, there both defensive liabilities out there together and really don't play well off each other at all from the limited time we saw them together.

i'm so down for making a granger trade, make it happen morey.

No way! Lowry is not a scorer. You put him along side with Yao, all the teams would double-team Yao without hesitation because Lowry can't score. And Yao would break his foot again very soon.

I can replace AB, it´s not a matter of replacing, it´s a matter of being as effective as before

With Yao in, we need shooters, Lowry isn´t a shooter

Lowry is crucial for our 2nd unit, he would lose efficiency playing with Yao and starting, because he can´t shoot CONSISTENTLY

And last time I checked Lowry is a RFA

Do you mean TJ Ford 8 MILLION CONTRACT??? great GM you are
