http://icseftonandwestlancs.icnetwo...el-craig--the-next-james-bond--name_page.html Actor Daniel Craig is to be the next James Bond, it has been reported. He has been offered a three-film deal by producer Barbara Broccoli, according to The Sun. Craig, 37, starred in the gangster film Layer Cake. The newspaper said he had been competing with fellow British actor Clive Owen to take over from Pierce Brosnan. However, Owen had told casting agents he did not want the job as he feared it might limit his career. Other names mentioned at different times in connection with the 007 role have included Eric Bana, Jude Law, Heath Ledger, Ewan McGregor, Dougray Scott and Australian Hugh Jackman.
Well, it's not really "young" Bond, it's just early Bond. I mean, he isn't gonna make to the rank of commander in the Navy and then gain the experience to be an agent in his 20's. Another strange thing I read was that they are considering making movies based on these recent novels that do portray a young teenage Bond and that Orlando Bloom would be the guy. "The most unusual of rumours surrounding the next James Bond was that for a while, Orlando Bloom's name was coming up to play the part of the super spy in a restart of the franchise. The idea has been scrapped of course in favour of an older actor for "Casino Royale", but now something new has emerged. Sky Movies reports the British hunk is in serious talks about a series of films based on an idea by a new author about the early life of the MI6 agent. Bloom says "I love the idea, in principle, as he can be far more adventurous and do more stunts. This is as near as I think I will get to playing the grown up James for the next 20 years." This film series, which Miramax and Dreamworks have both been barracking for already, would be based on a new series of young 007 novels which began this year with 'Silverfin' which has already become a best seller. In the book set in the 1930's, a teenage James Bond spends a holiday at a remote castle where he soon comes upon a mystery involving killer eels and an arms tycoon conducting dangerous genetic experiments." http://www.darkhorizons.com/news05/050328i.php
they should just kill the series at this point. im a huge bond fan and have seen every film, but the last few, while entertaining, just dont feel like bond films.
This guy looks like a tool. Ive been a Bond fanatic for years, but this dude just doesnt fit the mold very well. Clive Owen or Hugh Jackman..... Jesus talk about a franchise about to take a nosedive into oblivion.
Another great pic....... Looks like hes 50! http://www.imdb.com/gallery/granitz...400.jpg?path=pgallery&path_key=Craig, Daniel (I)
Does it really matter who plays Bond anymore? The series is tired and hasn't been good since Sean Connery left. Pierce Bosman was pretty good but the stories are too unbelievable and plots recycled.
I think the first thing that came to everyone's mind was: Who The F is Daniel Craig? Not surprisingly, not something we heard from the Daniel Craig camp.
