Give whatever he got injected in him to Schaub and AJ.

Also, our defense will get better with Manning back.

Seems like the Texans got some blessing in disguises in FA.

We got rejected by Aso but actually got the better CB thus far in Joseph.

We also got rejected by Weddle but got similar, if not, better production from Manning.

I don't think either of those were blessings in disguise... we knew Joseph was an elite cornerback and we knew Manning was a good safety. More like, just plain blessings.

Yeah I guess. I was one of those people that was pissed that we didn't get Aso because I knew very little of Joseph, so it was more ignorance on my part.

Didn't know Joseph was a shutdown corner. Dare I say he's the 2nd best CB in the league after Revis?

Also Manning was another unknown for me. We apparently had Weddle but he chose to re-sign with SD at the 11th hour. Manning has to be top 10 safety this season.

That would be a perfectly reasonable statement. Aso looked pretty bad last night...

Perfect set up: pass rush helps make the secondary's job easier, and a complete secondary gives the pass rush an extra couple of seconds to get in for the kill.

Toss in Cushing and Ryans operating in between, and you've got an OC's worst nightmare.

In Aso's defense, the Eagles don't have a good DC. Aso would play well in Wade's system, imo.

I guess but it didn't help that he proclaimed that he wanted to be the "highest paid CB in league history".

That may have some to do with his performance this year...but he's getting beat often. I'd say that the Raider's defensive scheme helped Aso and now he's being exposed.

Yeah, still scratching my head as to how their o-line coach of 12 years got moved to DC? Not that you don't have to understand both sides of the ball as a coach but that is not a seamless transition.

Yeah, especially when they spent so much money on revamping that entire defense. It's like giving the keys of a Ferrari to a kid who just got his license. He might be able to drive the car, but he's obviously not going to do it any justice. Castillo is learning on the job each and every week, and while that might be ok on a team that doesn't have Super Bowl aspirations, it doesn't seem prudent to try that experiment on a team like the Eagles.

Pretty accurate analogy because Castillo hadn't coached a defense above the high school level. Even David Gibbs has more defensive coaching experience than Castillo.

Aso is not a zone CB... let him play straight up and he is the best CB in the world and one of the 3-4 best ever.
