The media is hilarious. They’re their own worst enemies.

If you call into a sports show wanting to fire a coach of ANY sport what does the host usually come back with? That’s right,

“well don’t just say you want to fire the coach who would you hire???”

So I ask the media WHO on THIS team RIGHT NOW should be the go to guy?? Yea, it’s Harden not the G leaguers and half-cocked role players!!! My god these are moronic times.

If you are 5th in the league assists, I don't see how anyone could call you a ball hog.

See what happens when the ball moves around? Harden is such a hog.

What’s your definition of ball hog? I didn’t mean it as a pejorative — he is playing the way his team wants him to play— it’s just a description.

Someone who passes out of necessity or simply refuses to pass. Harden is the complete opposite. If his teammates are hitting open shots he is more than a willing passer.

Anyone who actually watches the Rockets games would never accuse Harden as a ball hog. He is pretty much the only person who can runs the offense especially since CP3 is out. Rivers and EG can help but everything offensively revolves around what Harden does for this team. Harden is a willing passer and he is been taking over 30 shots lately because his teammates are not hitting open shots and that's one of the reasons his assists numbers are down lately also. I hate to see the so called basketball experts who watches some highlights and maybe couple of games on TNT or ESPN and evaluate the Team or its players.

Morey looks for players that are exceptional at one or more skills and deploys them in that manner. That is what he looks for in role players. Faried is exceptional at energy, crashing the glass, and dunking. As an aside he has a little bit of range at the elbow and even some 3pt line action. He does not have a good BBIQ so his D lacks there when he otherwise would have the athleticism to be a good defender. Specifically, when I have seen him traditionally his instincts are bad and he is out of position on a play and relies too much on athleticism to make up for it when he is away from the basket. To me these are all things, even at this point in his career, that I think can be improved to a degree if you clearly define his role ala Nene. I think in a team D scheme in the role he will have after Capela gets back he can be a marginal defender against 2nd units when asked to switch and play around the basket. Again, he has the athleticism for switching but knowing when to go over, under a screen, position, approach, or the extra second or two of knowing to rotate make all the difference. Defense is very instinctive and you have to see where the play is going in your mind before it plays out. Every play has been seen thousands of times. Some people just never get it and only react and it is too late. Some never do the proper video homework to get that edge. In a switching D it is not enough just to know your man but also who you will be switched to the majority of times. Are they left/right handed, how you pressure them, etc. For us the positives far outweigh his weaknesses. He is DESPERATE to play and he is young and healthy. Like Rivers, like Green, this is like throwing a line to a drowning man. They will give their all.

Rockets play the Suns in a little over a week. Eddie Johnson probably gonna do a SERMON on hating Harden's ugly basketball all game on that Suns broadcast.

When the other Rockets can hit their wide open 3's then they can complain.

Harden should have way more assists and the games should not be this close if other Rockets step up.
