I sure can't blame Dan. Being stuck on the IR in your second year sucks - especially when it's behind Walt Williams. If it was Rice, Tmo and Dan, it would be fine. However, Williams needs to get playing time so that he is a viable option to trade at the trading deadline.

Frankly, Rudy started shopping Dan when he made the infamous - he doesn't fit in here comment. If Tmo never gets confidence in his 3 point shot and turns into a better version of Shandon, we're going to regret this.

I hope the Rockets can find Dan a good home. He deserves better after waiting patiently last year.

Still, it's better to get rid of a chemistry wreck waiting to happen. Look at Portland - they always have too much talent. Dan has too much talent to be happy as the 10th, 11th, or 12th man on the rotation.

Snipe, that's a good point: when RT said he couldn't find a spot for Langhi, it seems to have spelled the end. However, I don't want the Rockets to trade him. RT, just ignore him. Langhi has proved only that he hasn't been able to be comfortable in a real NBA game. That this is still the case in the guy's second year is worrisome. All the same, I still want to gamble that he'll get that comfort and be good.

I'd also point out the timing of the public request. Langhi has done his 5-game minimum IR stint. They brought it up now to put Langhi on the bench and put someone else on the IR. Imo, if he's activated, he'll stay a Rocket; if he's stuck on the IR going forwarrd, he's a goner.

I think we will one day regret getting rid of Langhi-- if we do get rid of Langhi.

When the guy gets stronger he will be a contributor plus.

Move Walt. He will not be the difference in making or moving through the playoffs.

    Keep Langhi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We arenot going to release Langhi if we will lose his $500,000 salary. Nobody wants him in a trade so it looks like Danny boy will stay until we get an injury then he might get off IR if we don't activate Collier first...

Does Langhi even have a guaranteed contract? If he doesn't then the Rockets wouldn't be responsible for the 500,000.

Also, the Rockets probably wouldn't mind swallowing 500,000 in salary. We aren't the Warriors where we re-sign players so they can rot on the bench.

I think the Rockets will try to trade Langhi, and after a while will eventually cut him.

His contract is guaranteed, and being in a contract year, he needs to play some time to get a better contract.

I think Dan Langhi can be a very good player, but he needs to play, in fact, he IS better then Walt, right NOW !!!

However, Rudy always is slow to make changes with guys he feels are loyal to the Rockets.

If I were Dan, I would give them a couple of weeks to make a trade, then I would make a MASSIVE stink saying that I was OK and they need to play me or release me.

Dan Langhi deserves to go somewhere that he can find his niche, it is not here anymore.

I am no Walt proponent but he is defintely a better all around player than Langhi is right now. That said, I would rather trade Walt, but definetely we should trade one of them. We can't trade Rice, and Griffin (who can be given 3 minutes) and Morris both have more potential and more versitality than Langhi--so I don't want to trade either of those guys. Also, when Mo gets back we could consider given some 3 minutes to KT as well. We just have too many guys who can play small forwards, both young and old. Walt (the lesser of the older players) or Langhi (the younger one with less, but nonzero, potential) should go for whatever we can get. Ideally it would be another legit defensive oriented back-up 4/5 (for Walt) or 4/5 prospect (for Langhi), but a 2nd rounder from a certain lottery team with the cap room (Bulls?) would be fine for Langhi.

OH MY GOD!!! what the fu** is wrong wit yall? Langhi sucks. he may be a good practice dummy, but he has no nuts. when gametime comes, he chokes. i think rudy-t would have been playing him if he thaught langhi could contribute, but he CAN'T!! i cannot count how many airballs langhi has put up. walt at least hits a few 3's every now and then. i think the only reason yall like him around here is 'cause he's white. there i said it. cut his silly little ass and give some playing time to tmo and torres.

Who the **** is Dan Langhi to make trade demands? The Rockets took a chance, giving him guaranteed money his first year. They then guaranteed this season's contract, early in the summer I believe. All he has to do is shut up, take the money, work hard in practice, and wait for the opportunity to play significant minutes. Rudy's fair: do all of the above and they will come.

Even if Langhi is dissatisfied and wants out, he should have kept it in-house. Taking it to the media was bush.

I think you're taking full advantage of cyberspace to trash some people around here. In fact, I bet you wouldn't even dare to say that to someone in person, because you don't have the "sack" for it, ******.

PS - I think the irony of using your own words against you was delicious.

PPS - What the hell is Langhi doing making trade demands? You're under contract, shut up and play. If you want to be traded, then play hard enough so you actually have value, or talk to CD in private.

the thing is, if you get rid of walt, langhi still wouldn't get much, if any, playing time. Look at tmo. Look at torres, also ahead of him at sf. There really is no way, unless Walt was traded and Rice was seriously injured, that Langhi could get much time this year or next. What is he, sixth string sf?

Langhi only has limited future with the Rocks. After this year, both Rice and TMo will be still ahead of him in the depth chart. His only chance to get significant minutes is if one of them gets hurt.

The kid can shoot and I would not mind keeping him around. But if he expects to get starter minutes on any NBA team, he is fooling himself. I just don't see that. We probably need to let him go, so that he can get a better chance at proofing himself a starter elsewhere.

    STUPID

I figured this was coming,I just didnt know if Langhi would come out and say it or not.He has to be pissed off,I would be!He spent all last season on IR thinking that he would get time this season then we sign Oscar Torres, who I like, but would still rather have Dan in the game. Then the unexpected happens and Damon Jones is cut instead of Tierre Brown who makes a roster spot ahead of Langhi,WTF!?!

We only need Brown if Steve or Moochie goes down and even then he wont get very many minutes.

I dont see how he doesent fit on this team either?Because hes white or what?I think he fits in very well and I would rather him playing than Walt for sure but I thought he was going to get his minutes as the backup to Cat,where Torres is playing now!?!

I really wish we could keep him some how and get him on the Roster, maybe this will get Rudy to give him a chance if not then just drop him so he can be picked up by another team and if that happens I hope he turns out like Rashard and make us look stupid!

Oh well, whatever happens I wish Dan the best of luck.

Are you guys who say langhi has no right to make demands fricken MORONS?

Dan Langhi has to look out for DAN LANGHI...PERIOD !!! If it means making trade demands...then so ****..G be it.

I guess you guys jumped all over Francis when he did it, or maybe jumped all over Hakeem when he did it, or are you just so darned stupid to realize that it is a business.

Langhi has NO FUTURE with this team, he knows it , and the Rockets know it. He DOES have a future in the NBA and if you were in a contract year you would ask the same thing.

I think he is only looking out for himself, and YES, I like him because I think he has some serious upside, anyone remember Craig Ehlo? No, of course not, you're all a bunch of kids...

    GROW UP !!!!

    Kids...sheesh !!!

Im with DaDakota, are you guys telling me if you were being left out at work you wouldnt complain or just outright quit?Langhi is a MAN and he has to stand up for himself, like he said it has nothing to do with the way he feels about the team or staff, the guy just wants to get a chance to play plain and simple!!!

Another thing is,I hate everyone that keeps saying that he is like Matt Bullard and only one dimensional.Langhi can jump threw the roof,he is a good offensive rebounder and at 6'11" can provide a lot of matchup problems for other teams! You almost cant tell he is that tall when he plays because he runs around like a guard. He does have trouble on defense sometimes and still looks a bit confused out there at times but that should pass with playing time.

How do we get from Langhi "seeks a trade" to Dan "demands a trade?"

His remarks are very understandable. He prefers to stay here. Everyone of us would do the same. It's about contributing--- even if you do make a boatload of money!

Hakeem was a 17 year vet when he suggested a trade. Francis was at least a high lottery pick who had serious trade value and star potential.

Dan Langhi is a project. To make a baseball analogy, it's like Chris Truby or Glen Barker saying "I can't take it anymore! Trade me!" I'm sure teams are calling right now, trying to trade something of quality for a perimeter specialist (who has yet to hit a 3 in an NBA game) who is capable of defending absolutely no one, and is a whiny malcontent to boot.
