Yeah, for changing light bulbs! I don't see what people see in this guy. I'd be happy to get a pick for him.

This has nothing to do with getting anything in return. It's about the Rockets finding a good situation for Langhi.

I think the best place for him to go is the Heat. Pat Riley's system will really toughen him up. Plus, the starter at the 3, Kendall Gill, just broke his finger. So he might get some backup minutes there and show something. They need some shooters there anyways.

I'm sure he could find himself a spot on a team in need of a Don MacLean or Chuck Person type of player. I hope he develops into the kind of player who can come off the bench and light it up from the outside. Right now I guess he isn't ready to play with the Rockets, and he's obviously not in our future plans. It's unlikely that any team would give up more than a 2nd rounder for guy on our IR. Too bad for Langhi, because he worked hard in practice according to Rudy.

Langhi on the 36ers??!!! Do you think he would help you guys out that much? But seriously, that new guy you have (Farley?) is seriously awesome.

Ahhhh....man! You make it sound like I wanted Langhi to start. My side was for signing PF/Cs and beefing up the frontline and rolling the dice on Shandon and Langhi, while really planning to play Moochie and 3 guards for Mecha-Minutes.

    *sigh*

You are right. My side is smothered once again.

Earth to Langhi...you have no trade value until you sign with Dan Fegan...sheesh!

I can't say I don't blame him. I mean we're wasting our time with Williams as the back-up, Rice looks bad too , but its early. Would we be any worse off with Morris-Langhi as opposed to Rice-Williams? I don't know, but he does need to play as well as Morris and Griffin. If I were to trade him it wouldn't be to someone in our conference. Maybe Philly, Clev, or Charlotte would get him some minutes on the floor as a backup. If it was the last yr of my contract, I'd be trying to play too.

Why don't we just cut him outright?

That would allow Langhi to pick his team, and if all else fails, allow him to play overseas.

I never saw a chance in hell that he could be a starter.

With that being said, I wish Dan luck.

    :D

Langhi has no trade value... absolutely none.

Here is a guy whose claim to fame is being able to stick the outside jumper, but has yet to prove that he can do this when game time comes along. He may be great in practice (or summer leagues), but when game time comes around it's like he can't even see the goal.

Please stop comparing him to Bull'. Bullard has proven time and again that he is a deadly long range shooter, that will kill you if you leave him open. What has Langhi proven... nada. What team is going to trade for a guy that is supposed to be able to shoot, but has yet to prove it and when in real game situations can't hit jack.

Langhi needs to shut-up and take a seat on the bench next to that other guy whose supposed to have such a great stroke from the outside, y' know Collier (at least he can blame his shooting woes on injuries and conditioning).

We should really trade him for a future assistant coach. The guy's going to be benched on the sideline anyway.

I guess this was due to happen, but I'd still like to see Langhi find a place with the Rockets. I concede that he has yet to prove anything, but I still feel he will blossom in years to come, if not as a starter, at least as a good sixth man off the bench.

We criticize the 'P' word for a good reason, but if you look at Langhi, he looks like he should be a pure shooter-type with height and great athleticism to boot. Those aren't qualities you ignore (and why the Rockets picked him up) and he doesn't have blatant flaws that can't be improved upon either. I think Langhi will be able to do something when put in an offense where he's allowed to be a focal point. And I even feel in time, he could learn to play with Steve and Cuttino and contribute without having to have the ball in his hands to begin with. But that could take years and I agree isn't really in his interest or the Rockets either (in terms of finding him minutes when they have other players ready to step up and contribute)

If we can land a 2nd round pick for him then it would probably benefit both the Rocks and Danny boy to move on. I don't ever see him getting in the game other than garbage time.

The pick sent to Dallas could have been used to pick up Loren Woods.

I think (I could be wrong here) Dallas used the pick on Kyle Hill who most notably was an add on in the Glen Rice trade. Instead of playing for Houston, he choose Europe.

"I love Houston. In this business, you have to play. I want to play somewhere. I don't know if this is the right situation for me. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn't, it doesn't. There's no hard feelings or anything like that. I just feel I'm in a position where I need to play right now. I don't know if that will happen here."

Hmmm...sounds awfully familiar to something Hakeem said last year. Now compare the reactions of the board then versus now. It appears Dan Langhi gets more respect around here than Hakeem Olajuwon. I'm going to start calling him Dan "whiney b****" Langhi.

I don't understand how people can say he has never proved himself in a game when he never got any pt. What would he have done if he had averaged even 10 minutes a game?

The next question is will TMo be saying the same thing next year? What a dog he has been so far. All he has done is look good in practice and summer league. He hasn't done diddly in the regular season. We traded a first round draft choice for him and he can't even get any pt. Blah, blah, blah.

TheFreak, I think the signifigant difference between what Langhi says and what the Dream did is that Langhi hasn't had any chance at all to play. He's a young player trying to make a carrear of being in the league and it's pretty tough to do it on the IR. Dream had put in his time and made a home of Houston, he has a history here that should have meant something more. Dream walked away from a legacy, Langhi's just trying to get on the bench for a team. There's a big difference.

Moe, I've been waiting on Tmo's third angry parent post to spout off my opinion but I'll bring up a bit of it here. Honestly I don't understand the reasons that Morris hasn't gotten hardly any time on the floor. It's not like he's shown that he doesn't belong. I don't see why it's so hard to get him 5-10 minutes a game, not necessarily every game but consistantly getting him in would be helpful. Not only for his development but also the Rockets. I know that Rice is working on getting his legs and polishing off his shooter's touch, but until that happens what's the harm in taking him out 2-3 minutes early and shrinking Walt's minutes by 3-5. That'd be something like 5-8 minutes where Morris could get in, preferably the second quarter or so, and show his stuff in a not so pressured situation like the 4th quarter. The best possible situation woule be if Morris could get in while Francis is on the court, because frankly Morris plays more agressively on the offensive end with Stevie in the game.
