Doesn't matter. Gilbert going off like a fool was stupid. He's no better than LeBron.

I agree, but they all understand that's part of the business... Every profesional player in all sports understand that...

It's not the fact that all these guys went to the same team... It's how they went about there business of doing it. Very unporfessional.

You make it sound like he OWES Cleveland his soul..... I'm sorry if I was the Cleveland Cavaliers I would have had a PLAN B,C,D,E,.... X,Y,Z... Cleveland was crap before Lebron arrived and that is why the owner is acting this way.. He knows he's going to lose MILLIONS of dollars.. Attention w****? It's called the NBA it's god damn ENTERTAINMENT.... You watch Human beings put a damn rubber ball inside a damn metal hoop.

What do you think this is? We the fans encourage this crap because we our the ones who pay them big dollars. We pay upwards of $3000 dollars for a single ticket to watch this form of entertainment... It goes with the territory bud.

He did quit. He looked as uninterested in that final playoff game as that T-Mac did in that game that everyone chastized him about. But it wasn't just him, that whole team quit. I remember they didn't even bother fouling within the final minute and 30 seconds or so when they still had a chance.

It was pretty over the top, but so was that whole circus LeBron put on before the announcement of his big "decision". I mean...who the hell puts together a 1-hour TV SPECIAL not news conference but SPECIAL?! I'm glad Gilbert ripped him a new one, LeBron's a great player but I hate the way he acts during games...EVERYTHING has to be a show and spectacle from the powder routine to the two step dances he does with his male teammates during the game.

You do realize that NBA teams aren't just the front office and ownership... it's also the entire city and fan base that idolizes and worships their athletic representatives. If it was just between the team and the player, then tough luck either way.
But, obviously sports idolatry runs a lot deeper, especially for a hometown hero like Lebron. To drag this whole thing out when he, in fact, knew his final destination from day one, not only screams attention w****, but a complete disregard for sensitivity of Cleveland fans, who are about to lose their own sports icon.

BS. Y'all are fools if you think Wade and Bosh didn't know this was coming. Wade is the mastermind behind the whole thing. Why would have Bosh committed to Miami if he didn't know James was coming also? Bosh in no way would have went to Miami knowing the other star was Wade. He's too smart for that. Wade convinced both Bosh and James to join. This was planned way back since they were teammates in China during the Olympics.

    Kim,

Understand what you saying... But players have always tried to lure and sway free agents to play with them... Recruiting process...

But this year was as unprofessional as it gets... Coming together like a free-agent super summit.... Come on!!!!

They were showing their @$$ and being as disrespectful as they could get.

And you make it sound like everyone in the NBA are attention whores. Not true. Yes, it is entertainment, but there is a difference. Do you see Yao acting like Lebron? Nash? Pierce? Nowitzki? NO

There is a difference between getting attention and being a attention w**** like Lebron.

Lebron, Riles and Wade were at Bohemian Grove with the Bilderbergs.

I doubt Lebron will ever be able to live this down even if he wins championships. I think Lebron did a last-second decision to switch to Miami, and to do it on national TV was totally classless.

You can understand going to Chicago; you can understand going to NY. But Miami? The FA trio don't understand what it takes to build a team to win championships. They just want to ride on each other's coattails. There will be a backlash against the three.

No, an NBA team, is simply that...an NBA team.

This notion about an entire city and BLAH BLAH BLAH is hilarious...IF this was the case, NO players would ever be traded, because as you say, the ENTIRE city team of Houston wouldn't stand for it. Except when that player isn't playing as well, then it becoms ok to drag them thru the mud, and trade them away. Because a good ENTIRE city of Houston team only feels this way about the players that are worth it, this rule doesn't apply to the TMACS, or the FRANCIS's of the world...

    nope...rose colored glasses

Not to mention Lebron is from AKRON, not Cleveland...when did that become his hometown?

Then maybe I was raised differently... I really don't care about all the attention/hoopla... I've been a Rockets fan for 24 yrs and I can care less if Yao did the same thing... It's the NBA a from of entertainment and all I see is an extension of that entertainment.. I've never been one to Idol or worship..

I completely agree with the owner, LeBron is a coward and selfish, every word written was and will be completely true. Can't believe y'all think he's un classy, at least he speaks from the heart and is clairvoyantly true. LeBron has no class, no guts, no loyalty... not the owner.

Come to think of it, I'm a little worried this will really backfire and scare off potential FA's, draftees, etc.

Can someone explain why Cleveland fans feel that they're being betrayed?

He stayed with them for 7 years and took them to places the Cavs havent been in decades. Unfortunately, he never had a reliable enough support cast to take them to the top. Did Cleveland fans expect Lebron to stay with them his whole career?

The fans should be grateful that Lebron has instilled fire and excitement in their team and city that have been down for so long.

Is this all because of the way he drew the media to make this whole elaborate "Decision" or something else?
