Lebron made Gilbert millions in the 5 years he's owned the Cavs. Made them more popular than they ever have been, and probably ever will be.

What Lebron did sucks, but Gilbert shouldn't have acted like a child about it.

your moniker is an insult to the real Yao Ming. Yao will never ever behave classless like what Lebron did last night. Please cancel your account or change your moniker, then buy some poison to kill yourself....

You call Lebron classless and then suggest a poster kill himself.

    Great

the only thing he said that was uncalled for was that LeBron "quit" in the playoffs

other than that, EVERYTHING LeBron did was WRONG from a business perspecive. Did he have the right to play wherever he wanted next season? Of course. He could have gone to europe if he wanted...he could have played for the league minimum and gone to the Lakers....whatever he wanted to do was within his rights...BUT, the WAY he did it was so unbelievably unprofessional that it is mind boggling.

He basically took the girl he was dating for 7 years out to dinner and then proposed to the hot bartender he met last week right in front of her after he had planned it 3 weeks ago when he was on vacation with the hot bartender.

He should have been man enough to tell the Cavs that he was leaving AT THE BEGINNING OF THE FREE AGENCY PERIOD WHEN HE KNEW HE WAS LONG GONE. Would they have still been up in arms? Of course. Would they have lit his jersey on fire in the streets of Cleveland? Probably. But from a business perspective and an integrity perspective, it doesnt get much worse. Gilbert would have said that he is upset but he knew this was a possibility 3 years ago when they signed him to only a 3 year deal. LeBron, while he would still be villian #1 in Cleveland, would not have been looked at by the rest of the NBA and its fans as a complete and utter douchebag. In Cleveland, he would be douchebag #1. Outside of Cleveland, NBA fans would be saying "hey...sorry man but thats the NBA...happens to everyone at some point".

He didnt have to sugarcoat his "f-u" to Cleveland in an hour special with the B&G club BS...gimmie a break. If you listened carefully to what LeBron said about what his mom told him...she said something to the extent of that he was going to have live with the consequences of his decision. Guess what LeBron, mama's right.

All that said, Im glad he didnt choose the Knicks ;)

In addition, Fathead.com, an online retailer owned by Cavs owner Dan Gilbert dropped the price of its LeBron Fathead wall decals from $99.99 to $17.41, which happens to be the same year Revolutionary War traitor Benedict Arnold was born.

Gilbert: [lunging towards LeBron with a knife] I curse you. Until you do right by me everything you think about is gonna crumble!

Byron Scott: Don't do it Mr. Gilbert. Don't trade places with what I been through.

Danny Ferry: Come on, Mr. Gilbert, let's go to the car.

Scott: He ain't worth it, he ain't worth it.

LeBron: Who you think you is? You can curse nobody. Look at you. Your black, you're poor, you're ugly, you're a woman, you're nothing at all!

Gilbert: Until you do right by me, everything you even think about gonna fail!

Delonte: It's been a pleasure meeting all of you. Good-bye.

Rev. Jackson faults Cavs owner's LeBron comments

    Posted Jul 11 2010 8:13PM

CHICAGO (AP) -- The Rev. Jesse Jackson says Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert sees LeBron James as a "runaway slave" and that his comments after the forward decided to join the Miami Heat put the player in danger.

Shortly after James announced his decision Thursday night, Gilbert fired off an incendiary letter to Cleveland's fans, ripping the 25-year-old and promising to deliver a title before James wins one. He called James' decision "cowardly" and later told The Associated Press he believes James quit during a handful of Cavaliers playoff games.

Jackson says Gilbert's comments "personify a slave master mentality" and the owner should face a "challenge" from the league.

Messages were left Sunday night seeking comment from Gilbert, the Cavaliers, James and the NBA.

I don't care much about all of this stupid drama. Accept for the fact it cemented what I already knew to true about James. He is the arrogant primadona I thought him to be. I believe it to be true that he demanded vip treatment for all of his entourage with the Cavs and got it. And he negotiated for his entourage to have positions in the heat organization before he would embark on any deal and got that too. I also found it annoying how he became the self proclaimed king when he doesn't have any crowns are rings to show for it.

The funny thing is there are no guarantees they will win anything. I would bet money he will not get one this first year with the Heat. And that's when the shine start to fade on the King. There is no question they will have 3 of the best players in the league but I believe they will soon learn that basketball is a team sport and defense wins championships and defense doesn't happen overnight.

These are three young kids all with big egos. And they are now in a town that was once previously owned by Wade. I believe he will check his ego at the door to accomodate his new teammates but what happens when they don't when it all that first year.

Watch how quickly Wade and Bosh tire of Lebrons entourage walking around like they own the place. They will have carte blanche in the heat's organization and I don't care how much Wade is willing to tone down his ego. He won't be able to take it if that team doesn't win a championship the first year. The fingers will start pointing, make no mistake about it.

Unless the win 2 out 3 rings the first 3 years I expect the three kings to break up in 3 years. Yes Lebron made that an important clause in his contract.

And sooner or later the league will tire of Lebrons demands for his entourage and tell to go **** himself and the self proclaimed King will be the King of Caca. All things that go up must come down.

Having had a tendon injury like Lebron was in all likelihood suffering from (think left handed free throw), I can understand why he "gave up" when the lead was insurmountable.

I'd also imagine his doctor told him that he can't keep going on doing the hard yards day in day out for an otherwise bad roster, it was a stress injury which is the worst type.
