I think the posters who are opposing this signing is just not used to us having any size.

We've had a 6'6 center for all of last year, so a guess a 6'11 center is just way too abnormal and strange to be on the team.

Hill is the odd man out, sadly, but Miller/Yao/Dampier will be the center rotation and Jeffries/Hayes will get some minutes backing up Scola depending on matchups.

Patterson is going down there as soon as their season starts Im sure of it. Ish will down there as well someway. IF Dampier gets signed, Ish will be cut from the roster, but management will work out a deal to get him down to Rio Grande until another team picks him up or multiple injuries occur with Lowry involved in that. If Ish's situation didnt work out for Rocket where he left to join another team then Jermaine Taylor will see more minutes on the court as Courtney Lee would be running the point if Lowry gets injured.

What a punk! Not coming in for training camp. At least we'll have some more defense, toughness and rebounding.

Dont expect anything like that. Dampier will frustrate the heck out of the fans because YES, he is horrible but he does defend the rim and rebound, which is exactly what the Rockets need. dont get your hopes up that you will actually like this guy even if is what the doctor Morey ordered.

Consider he hasn't done training camp or any preseason, he should probably get more than one game.

I wouldn't sleep on Hill. Hill may be the backup to Scola before its all said and done this season, with Hayes and Jeffries playing as situational defenders because that all they are.

"He has so much experience" (Adelmans voice).
Sure we can push it with him.

    Ok I see your point.

But I think its different when it comes to young players. They are inconsistent and we can't afford to experiment when we are a contending team.

    Plus hes not a center.

    Still no confirmation on this?

For the sake of our defense, this would be a good signing. Assuming he's in decent shape and won't take two months to be ready.

I think Jermaine Taylor has to be the odd man out. Ish is needed right now with Lowry out, plus he's flat out earned it. We are loaded at SG anyway. Jeffries is another possibility, but I think Rick likes having him and they probably want to keep his expiring contract around for the deadline.
