What are you talking about? He was a stiff then and a stiff now. Just more depth is all. Always been a buster on every team he has played for. Is he good enough to play backup center?

Lets remember the backup part.. Bakup or maybe third string center. Lets not get carried away over Dampier.

I said I had mixed feelings when we "signed" him - now I'm more glad we didn't. Hill/Miller/Hayes/Yao should be enough of a committee at center. Our problems lie elsewhere, and Dampier would have given us an even larger logjam (apart from being an egomaniacal former Maverick :p).

Dampier would have been more useful than the current Brad Miller and at more than half the cost. oh well

I never wanted him to play for the Rockets in the first place. Brad is more than enough.

Really? You do know that Miller in this system fits it to a T? There is no way Dampier can play the high post and make the passes Miller does.

Is Dampier a better interior defender? Probably so, but are we really missing out on someone that is going to take this team to the next level? No.

Personally I think Hill is progressing nicely, Yao seems to be coming along and Miller when given minutes has shown me enough to be happy with the signing.

Miller is a Good Fit for this Team, however he really needs to be More Aggressive on D-Fence and Try Harder to Block Some Shots under the rim.

Hill has been Solid on O & D-Fence and should be able to Consistently Provide what Dampier could bring, Maybe Even More...

While I agree with most of what you said, I don't think you should expect Miller to be a shot blocker. He hasn't been one for his career and he won't be one now.

I expect him to Try Harder to Block or Thwart some shots in the paint. I noticed that he likes to stick his hands up passively to avoid a foul.
