Dave78, one of the most respected posters on Clutch. You speak the truth. I get this feeling we will regret this trade a few years down the road. JT needs to develop a better feel for the game, but if a team needs a basket, JT can creat his own shot and get to the rim almost at will. In fact, he could have helped us late in the 4th quarter aganst Denver when NOBODY could buy a basket.

    Don't do it, Morey.

Haha. I haven't given a compliment to Dave78 since our opinions clashed in respect to Ariza, but he is solid.

It is all good DD. You know I have given you plenty of support even though it appears we disagree on almost everything. lol

Bottomline, we are all Rockets fans first, so player favoritism should really be secondary to anything. We are just frustrated as hell as to the losing streak, so hopefully this feeling will go away when we put in a winning streak.

ps. I agree with you regarding changes to the starting lineup. As is, it is too flawed.

HakeemTK - I agree. Don't do it Morey. Maybe Dampier will not pass a physical? JT looked so sad Sat. night when the team was introduced....

Yeah I noticed that. I just hope JT gets a better opportunity than what he is getting with us. Rockets let go of players like JT all the time. Sometimes we are too smart for our own good when it comes to making basketball decisions.

Kelenna Azubuike 2.0. JT has talent and loads of potential and we are gonna trade him for practically nothing, a future second round pick that we will probably never receive.

So we can sign an aging 6'11" center when we have a 6'10" c/pf in hill who his twice as athletic than damp.

For the other posters saying they hope he fails his physical so we can keep JT. it wont happen JT has to be traded first before Damp takes his physical i believe?

I want JT to play but i dont want to trade him. The only way he will play is trade/injury. I doubt any of our sg get injured this early. *knock on wood*

Well, the fact that 13 teams have expressed interest in acquiring JT should make Morey pause. That is only if you are a JT supporter.

Unless this is just a precursor to a blockbuster trade, I think this whole move is a bad idea. Jermaine Taylor can play, and I don't understand why we need yet another center. I understand, on back to back nights Yao can't play. But on those nights, I don't really have a problem playing Miller and Chuck at the 5 and Scola and Hill at the 4. After all, we did start Chuck at center all last year. Our main problem is perimeter defense, I don't think Dampier will help much with that.

That's very true. Also heard somewhere that half the league is interested in him?

That should make morey thank twice.

So you guys would rather keep the team's 3rd (maybe even 4th if you consider AB) SG on the team that's on his last guaranteed year of his contract, than pick up a Center that can bring interior defense to a team that severely lacks it when Yao goes off the floor?

    No thanks.

What's a trip in the early season is that Scola is living up to that contract. Morey's looking pretty smart, in my opinion, at least right now. Lowry was paid too much, but we aren't privy to Morey's reasoning. Also, Lowry made it clear that he wanted to start and, as you've certainly pointed out to those who might have missed it ;- )- we had a starter already.

The way I see it is more like JT Tunnelvisioning the basket every time he gets the ball. And he'd never get any time playing behind Martin/Lee nor does he have the vision/handles to be a PG and size to be a SF. A new team gives him more oppotunities.

True in that Scola is earning his money, but he would be playing just as hard and be an even greater value if Morey had offered him an extension or a new contract before he became restricted.

He probably could have saved $1-$2 million a year by just signing Luis before last year.

    Same with Lowry......that adds up.

None of that has much to do with the topic at hand, I was shocked that Lowry got what he did, but it only takes ONE desperate team willing to overpay.

I believe in extending players who have earned an extension....Scola and Brooks and Maybe Yao...

Luis was not eligible for a contract extension.

How was it off topic? BimaThug said no one could reasonably expect last year that a restricted free agent like Lowry would get the money he did, and you said you predicted it. Now you're saying that you were shocked he got the money he got. Why would you be shocked if you were expecting a desperate team to overpay him? I guess I'm missing something, because that doesn't make much sense to me.
