Anyone else find it strange that we won't just cut JT already? Possible trade brewing? Hate to say it, but I really hope so.

TheRocketGuy Jermaine Taylor has requested a trade, so
Rockets looking for a deal. They won't waive him, as they have a lot invested in him.Damp waiting.

This will have to involve multiple players then, to free spots for whoever we get in a trade + Dampier, correct? Interesting...

Would any team really trade away a pick for Jermaine Taylor?

They can trade away a pick (or so it seems) but don't necessarily lose anything. For example, a top 59 protected pick...

I think Les might have to pay another team to take him ala Francis. He is better than Dorsey, but it's not easy to acquire a 2nd round pick.

Signing Dampier just seems like a cover up for the mistake of signing Miller. At least Dampier will stop the lay up drills once Yao is on the bench.

Miller has been pretty good so far, I don't really get this post?.. The signing of Dempier gives us the ability to move certain bigs who oscillate between the 4 and 5 down to straight 4. Hayes and Hill will end up seeing more time at their true position rather than playing third and fourth options to the Yao and Miller show. Yao can play at a max 24 mins. That means half the game we need other bigs. If its a back to back Yao will get 0 mins. Do you really want Miller pulling 48 mins, or even Hayes/Miller pulling 48 at the 5? Thats dumb. Dampier gives us a valid second option on back to backs and a valid third option on games Yao plays. This was no cover up.

People around the league value 2nd round picks more now with the recent success of guys like Budinger, Blair, Batum and others.

They just won't give them up for cash anymore either or else Morey would have bought a 2nd rounder and used it on Whiteside.

What would that true position be "The Bench". Seriously somebody is not thinking this out. Dampier is a bordenrline NBA player. Noone else wants him . Why should we? Don't believe all this talk about he not wanting to play for certain teams. If he was so wanted the he would never agree to a 1 year deal.

Batum was a first rounder. The ROCKETS' first rounder, actually.

    Yikes, my bad.

But still, 2nd rounders are valued too much to be given up for cash only.

You're kidding, right? Miller is 2-10 shooting so far, can't guard anyone, provides little rebounding and zero rim protection. We stupidly invested 3-years, (and 11-15Million on this over-the-hill stiff.

That's why he had a short list of teams that wanted him and it so happens the Rockets offered him the most of all of those teams? Dampier isn't a premiere player, true, but he isn't a DL scrub either. Are you actually saying the combo of Hayes/Hill is good enough on the back end of back to backs? Mind you, we have the most back to backs of all NBA teams... Plus, "noone" is not a word.
Really? While he might be lacking on the defensive end (so far), he looks pretty strong on the other end...

At least 1/3 of his season thus far looks pretty good...

    I agree with this.

All the other GM's know the Rockets situation with Yao's minutes, being 0-3 with defensive issues. They also know they cannot add Dampier until we open up a roster spot.

Why would they trade anything for JT, no matter how much they covet him when they can just wait the Rockets out and getting him without giving something up?

Morey is good, but I find it hard to believe he can manufacture a trade for JT when the Rockets are the ones that have to get something done. If anything, if the Rockets did want to trade JT, I wonder why they did not do a better job in PR quelling the release of the Dampier agreement.

If they don't waive JT,Damp can change his mind and go elsewhere. I'm skeptical about what Damp will be able to do, because he is inconsistent. If he works hard,he can help us rebound and protect the rim.

I wouldn't give the Rox anything for JT.....unless they tossed in a future pick or $$$.....teams are not stupid and JT is not exactly coveted by anyone.
