Only guy who's likely to get cut is Smith. If there's a trade it's likely Taylor and then not as likely my guess would be Hayes.

I'd like to see a Gordon Hayward for Hill swap.

New Feigen tweet: JT probably will be traded.

EDIT: Couldn't we have made a better deal for JT if we traded him before the Dampier news leaked?

my guess would be to see if the clippers can absorb his salary they could use a backup 2 guard there and maybe in return actually get that 2nd round pick from toronto. I believe that the clippers own some of the restrictions on that pick?

I haven't really watched Dampier much the last couple years. I'm reading many different reports on different sites. Some in here say he's going to be a nice defensive addition, yet on other sites I am reading that he's horrible defensively.

What gives? Are we simply looking at his height and blocked shots and thinking he's great defensively?

    The more you know.....

A player under contract sent down to RGV still counts against the 15 man Roster limit.

We can not simply send Ish or JT down and have Damp take the final roster spot. We can release the players to sign with any team that is interested and if they are still available they can sign with RGV.

Also, for those saying to release Jeffries... JJ is an asset as an expiring contract at the Trade deadline. Plus if the Rockets cut him they are responsible for paying out his entire salary due for this season.

Probably not if I had to guess. I doubt you get anything more than a conditional 2nd round pick for Taylor. Kind of like what the Spurs got for Curtis Jerrells.

I'm betting on an option to swap second round picks -- with protections to make sure we don't actually get to swap picks.

damn i dont know how i missed this thread earlier today...

too many people loving Ish over a pre season game or two. He's got talent and talent can surprise defenses initially, but for him to be able to keep doing his thing consistently, even after teams have a scouting report for him, he has to gain experience and keep working. This isn't the team where he should do that, but he's a solid third option, but i'm not sure i'd want him to back up extensively if lowry is injured. Give Lee some of those minutes.

Great to hear about dampier...after so much trade talk revolving around our backcourt, i was thinking it still wouldnt help our vertical defender in the interior and perhaps trading scola would be good if we acquired Melo Or Iggy..but this move will certainly help.

Who knows what Morey has planned...Could be a larger deal looming which would also clear room for Dampier.

Taylor is easily replaceable while third PG is harder to find. It will be hard rooting for Dampier, but he does offer what the Rockets need: size, defense, and rebounding. He actually complements Miller well.

I like it. Gives the team size, rebounding, and he plays solid defense. Low risk move. I wonder what type of shape he is in right now.

I agree 100%, and didn't Morey state earlier this week that Lowry is back by weekend?
