Bc our D sucks. He provides interior defense (1.4 blocks in 23 mins last season) and rebounding.

Brad Miller is getting schooled out there. I'm good with this signing.

He might be everything else you said, but could you please explain how he's a poor rebounder for a guy of any size when he averaged 10.6 rebounds per 36 minutes for his career, including 11.3 per 36 last season?

In comparison, Shaquille O'Neal averaged 11.3 per 36 for his career, including 10.3 per 36 last season.

Given that Shaq is rebounds at essentially the same rate and is a lot bigger, is Shaq also a poor rebounder for his size?

That's your problem Herrera. Don't pay attention to data. Focus on your "gut" and the impressions you form from media hype. Dampier is clearly a poor rebounder because a gaggle of emotionally invested clutchfans posters have repeatedly affirmed to themselves that we don't need the guy since we once rooted against him and the much-hated Mavs. 11.3 per 36 last year is nothing compared with DHoward. We should really seek a trade for Howard, but Morey's an idiot so he won't realize how obvious this move is. I gotta go back to playing NBA2k11 now to simulate how awesome it would be to have Howard on the squad.

I can see this happening just because Taylor's contract is more and guaranteed...I dont believe Ish's guaranteed yet for the full season and pretty sure its probably still less than Taylor's deal even if it was.

At this point Ish seems to be better for the team given Lowry's back issues I would rather have them keep Ish though I still think Taylor has the potential to be the better player, but with Martin and Lee ahead of him on that depth chart he isnt going to see any time on the floor here.

Best case scenario would be if the team could trade Taylor to a team under the cap that could possibly use him for a conditional 2nd round pick.

    the more bigs the better.

Yao, Brad Miller and Dampier. That's pretty solid at the 5.

He is not a low post, throw it down to him on the block and he'll score type player, never was and never will be. That's not what we're looking for, as he provides length/size, defense, and rebounding off the bench...that's what we need. And the Mavericks had no reason to keep him with two guys doing the same type of things Dampier brings in Haywood and Chandler while being paid a whole lot more.

All I can say is he didn't do himself any favors waiting until the season actually started before deciding to pick a team.

He's going to come in through the doghouse and better work his arse off to find the court.

Ish Smith isn't getting cut. We don't have a backup PG. Cut Taylor. He's not getting any playing time anyways.

Erick Dampier, the Human Brett Favre.

Lets hope he doesn't send sexual voicemails and pics of his penis to Jerome Solomon.

Send Taylor and some cash to someone under the cap for a TE. There's several teams under the cap still.

    ^ This ^

    Lee/Budinger makes Taylor redundant.

I doubt he would see anything but garbage minutes anyway.

Seeing you comment in this thread gave me a strange thought. What if Hayes had Dampier's body? Or Dampier had Hayes' heart? I've always thought Damp wasted his talent on mediocrity.

Feigen now reporting agreement per twitter post...

Rockets do have an agreement with Erick Dampier, after a month on it and about four days in which they were close. One-year deal. #hounews

    Now I believe it ;).

Makes me think that it wasn't Dampier making the Rockets wait, but the other way around, maybe?

    Question is, who's getting cut?

And what's gonna happen to Hill?
