I'm excited if getting Dampier means that Jordan Hill can play backup power forward instead of center. Should be a big improvement to Hayes when we play tall teams.

Even if you are essentially correct, even if, comparing Ish to Cato and Stro is way off the mark.

The essence of Ish v JT is simple: Rox desperately need depth at Point and if it aita gonna be Ish then it has to be Lee/JT. What have you seen there?

Of course a true point forward would be a nice option - perhaps Thrices #6?

What, are you slow? I said CBS didn't confirm if he will actually sign.

Hayes will backup PF position. Hill will just sit on bench and stare at Adelman.

    Fixed.

This is a high stakes salary cap management game that Morey plays. No sense in eating the luxury tax on Taylor if you can pay less to another team to take him.

At least with Ish, the Rockets would only need to eat the $50,000 in guaranteed money he's owed.

That said, I'd hope that Morey could net an ACTUAL second rounder for Taylor. Not like the bullcrap never-going-to-happen draft consideration he got for Andersen and Francis.

Maybe that's the hold up right now. Who knows?

You think a trade is looming?

Can we use Taylor and Hill as trade bait for an upgrade at SF?

Both Hill and Patterson are not centers. I see Hill at some point in the season backing up Scola and Hayes plus Jeffries moving into their natural roles as situational defenders against guys like Nowitzki ect. Hill is going to have to bring the energy to get back on the court and I think he will.

I sure hope not. The obvious choice should be to cut Ish. Courtney Lee can handle backup PG duties when we need it. I still have faith in Taylor and we can let Ish develop on the Vipers should a need arise later in the season.

Yes!! I'd love to see Jordan Hill at his natural position at the 4 spot..

Both Dampier and Miller are slow and lack explosion, so Jordan Hill would definitely be great compliment to both of these guys..

Good pickup for us (if it's true). We need a presence in the paint with expeirence. We dont need him to score a lot of points. Just bang and defend the rim for 10-15 mins per game when Yao plays and 15-20 on the night's he wont play. Damp knows his role on the court. He wont try to do too much or play outside of his skill set. It will be all about the paint with him.

Suge Knight in a Rockets uniform?

I wish we him last year, we would have been in the play-offs.

They should probably move JT instead of Ish.

If nothing else, when a smaller guard like Ellis or Curry tries to run a layup drill to the bucket either 1) Dampier will knock the snot out of him or 2) Dampier will eat him, but either way they will get the message and that is something the Rox have lacked for quite some time.

Hopefully Suge Knight with a Basketball works out better than Ray Lewis with a Basketball.

I don't understand how anyone can be upset about gaining any additional size around the hoop.

Do people not noticed we got torched for 130 in regulation the other night?

Interesting theory. No one is denying the possibility of signing Dampier and the hold up isn't money because we can only give so much and is worth at least that much. The only other reasons might be the Rockets want to see him first to see if he hasn't balloned up out of shape or maybenumber ofyears. I personally would like a 1 year deal with him . Your idea makes more sense.

I never thought I'd say this, but I'm glad we picked Dampier up (if the report is true). We are two completely different defensive teams with Yao vs. without Yao. Dampier would clog the middle in ways that it's apparent to me now that Miller can't do. Miller is a bit slow on his rotations and defensive spacing. I don't think we'll 80% from the paint like we saw against the GSW with Dampier. No lay up drills and hopefully Dampier can help cut off penetration from AB and Martin's guys.
