why do you need a link ? you know Jones signed with the Heat - I still don't believe any of the CD bashers have produced a link that confirms Jones was ever interested in playing here
I thought I read somewhere that after getting T-mac to go along with Yao Free Agents would be FLOCKING and falling over themselves to play with those two guys rocket river cannot beleive everything u read
they might (in the future) if we have some money to give them (but its all tied up in our power forwards)
I think people are less likely to flock over here at this point becuase we haven't proven anything as a team or as our 2 superstars should be. If we starty winning games and showing the leeague what we are capable of doing i think then people would want to come here and play . At the same time i think we are in an era where people do not want to play for a team that is defenesive minded and barely scoring. They want tog o to the high powered offenses and score and be on the highlight reel. That's what they want..not a boring 80 point game where they have to be benched after their first turnover and put on the IL cuase they make a bad play... You know where i am going with this.
Because Jeff said he turned us down. I don't recall an offer ever being made, or that we were seriously persuing him. And that is PRECISELY the point. DD
Interesting. So he turned us down. Just gonna have to go with my faith in Jeff to quell any doubts. Well, that sucks...but it does say a lot about the franchise and what players think about us. DD
I don't think he turned down the Rockets. I think he turned down the offer (if any) the Rockets made him.
No, he wanted to stay in the east and liked the idea of playing with Shaq. He actually wanted to stay in Milwaukee. Houston was down on his list a few teams.
I figure it would have had to depend on the amount of money we would have offered him, no? Perhaps we should have just offered him more?
This reporter has a different story to tell about Jones and his interest in playing for the Rockets this past summer. http://***********/discus/messages/25/1916.shtml?1102998590
I have a hard time believing that if we had offered Damon what Miami offered him that he wouldn't have considered it seriously. Were we down on his list of teams because we only wanted to give him like $4 mill over 3 years or something like that or were we down on his list of teams because he didn't want to play here? And if so, why did he not want to play here? Van Gundy?
This guy could have been our starting PG for years. He's pretty young, and he fits the team perfectly. Low TO, smart, good shooter. That's a ****ing prototype. I would have been willing to part with far more than 2.5 mil for him. I think we probably made him an offer...he simply chose the Heat offer over ours. Our cutting him before definitely had something to do with it. Remember why we released him? So the likes of Moochie Norris and Tierre Brown could get minutes backing up Francis.
why does EVERYTHING have to be JVG's fault ? It was Rudy T that cut Jones - he would have no beef with JVG... I mean all he did was go play for Jeff's brother
