Except for the quote in the video where Romney says that Obama wants to hire more police, teachers, and firemen and then asks why Obama didn't learn from Wisconsin, that people want to cut spending.

damn, mr. dylan should have done the soundtrack:

let me ask you one question
    is your money that good
    will it buy you forgiveness
do you think that it could
    i think you will find
when your death takes its toll
    all the money you made
will never buy back your soul.

and I hope that you die
    and your death'll come soon
    i will follow your casket
    in the pale afternoon
and i'll watch while you're lowered
    down to your deathbed
and i'll stand over your grave
'til i'm sure that you're dead.

These "whatever goes" attack ads were extremely effective during the early 00's. They existed before, but Carl Roves revolutionized and perfected it, (a true game changer of his time IMO). His strategy was simply repetition and volume; despite substance. The problem for the GOP now is that the Dems learned this as well, and the GOP seem to be stuck on the same approach. The American people as a whole has become de-sensitized to it. It reminds me of a interview with a website CEO where he quoted (paraphrasing) "when we started, there would be a 1 in 7 users who would click on the ads, now it's 1 in 49".

I think the GOP will eventually change their approach and realize the Dems are not as naive as they were during the Bush elections.

I guess I've always been more intrigued about the strategies the parties play rather then the actual platforms.

Wasn't Joan Raymond the superintendent of HISD about 25 years ago? :p

    That explains some things.

West is anything but Legit. He was relieved of his command for basically torturing people. He hired a campaign manager who suggested that if things didn't go their way politically people should use guns and violence. He's accused over 80 members of congress of being active communists.

    He's totally off his rocker.

Any links? I must admit that from what I've seen and heard in regards to West he seems legit.

I used to like Ron Paul too.

It's all been linked before, but I'll try and do some of it again.

Here's the one where his campaign chief of staff suggests using bullets if ballots don't work. Suggesting violence as the answer to political problems is never a good thing.

    http://www.crowleypoliticalreport.c...-staff-if-ballots-dont-work-bullets-will.html

Here's a link talking about West and his torture of an innocent Iraqi police officer

Here's West calling members of congress communists.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/04/17/allen-west-communist-comment_n_1432998.html

He's totally insane, and a shame to the members of U.S. military who served honorably.

you call that a hard-hitting attack ad. that's pretty tame, imo.

So GOP strategy is to never talk about policy only attack phrases taken out of context and incorrectly interpretted.

Good plan, if we were all idiots.

There is a reason the ad never mentions this. You would think if it was bad they would bring it up.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allen_West_%28politician%29#Iraq_interrogation_incident

Compare that to drunkenly assaulting a police officer....

    West is very legit.
