Week 11 -- home against the Cardinals. Sad to say, but it may be the only game in which we are favored to win this season. We could easily be looking at a 1 or 2-win season, which would be a top 2 pick at worst.
Im not trading and 2nd rounder for a head case. If he dropped, fine. It would have probably taken a 2nd and 4th to move up to 9.
WA and Carter were the 2 biggest impact players in the draft and that's exactly what we're seeing this season. Why do you call him a head case? Does he have mental issues.
Wrong they shoulda taken will Anderson 2 then drafted Caleb Williams number 1 overall next year. And they woulda had another pick in this year draft. Coulda got Jalen Carter too. Just imagine Carter Anderson Caleb Williams. no chance shroud and Anderson can be better.
Thats an interesting take. Houston had pick 12 last year and Carter was drafted at 9 so you would still need to give up some future assets to get him albeit not as big a package as what they gave ARZ for #3. Im not certain Carter will be more of a difference maker than Will Anderson, but he's a really nice player and I had him ranked highly although he did come with some baggage. On top of that you would have to assume we will be the worst team in football this season to land at #1 where Williams will undoubtedly go and Im not there yet still too much season left. Gun to my head and I had the choice of picking between CJ and Williams Im going Williams, but I really like what I've seen from Stroud so far.
You might be right considering how they look now, but still too much season left and I'd like to think Mills wouldnt have been DeMecos QB if Stroud wasnt the guy at 2 and that alone would have created more competitive outcomes. In your scenario Anderson/Carter/Williams on paper does look better than Stroud/Anderson, but as with all things sports it could wind up completely different. You gotta dance with who brung ya, but I was onboard with the 2024 QB Class over 2023 hope to be proven wrong if it leads to playing in critical games again as a Texan fan.
There is a reason he dropped. He has issues with maturity. Entitlement. Thinks the speed laws don’t apply to him. Contributed to his teammate’s death (street racing). Lied about it.
And that's not really the equation... Would you rather: CJ/WA or CJ + 1.12 + 1.33 + 1.1'24? It is looking like the 1R rookie WRs in '23 are going to be *very* good, and they would've had their pick of them @ 12.
