The Lillard hate on this forum is crazy! Can you imagine if he was a Rocket? You people would love him, as you should. He is a stud.

He might have had a chance in the East, but the West is stacked with great guards. Lillary will make Rising Stars team though.

Good rookie, but there have been a ton of good rookie guards between Jordan and him that didn't get picked up. If he was included, it'd be a bad sign for the league that they don't have 5 veteran gaurds in the conference better than a rookie.

Who the hell is hating on Lillard? He is a good young player, but is not an all star this season. His PER is 16 (for reference, the same as J.R. Smith and George Hill). He scores a solid 18 points a game, but it takes him nearly 16 shots a game.

For reference, his season is not even as good as the rookie season Damon Stoudamire had.

So.... no one is hating, but if you really think he RIGHT now is great or worthy of being an all star, you are just wrong.

I didn't realized Lillard will be turning 23 this year as a rookie. I think because of his NBA ready type of game and his success is because he stayed in school for a few extra years to work and shape his game and prepared himself for the NBA. Most other guards like Kyrie, Rose, etc were one and done who came into the NBA while still in their teens.

I think that's why Lillard has been so successful this year. He stayed in school to work on his game and its paying off. This should be a great example for many other young guards who's still in college. A lot of young guards who are clearly not ready for the NBA, still declare themselves for the NBA draft after just one year in college. I think Austin Rivers is a great example. He's clearly not ready for the NBA and if he stayed a few more years in college like Lillard did to improve his overall game and prepared him for the NBA, he would be a much more complete player.

Westbrook, Parker, Harden and Curry would all get in over Lillard.
