Yes it was a sack. What happened if Bledsoe somehow got away and then threw a touchdown? Sapp had to finish the play and that was exactly what he had done.
1. We know how long he's been here. We can read his member date. 2. What was the point of calling him a newbie for asking a simple question? Someone's had a bad day.
Sorry Bob, but I think you are out of line here. Maybe you are frustrated with halfbreed's posts on the Texans but I don't believe that excuses you for jumping on his ass like you did. I believe you are a fair and levelheaded poster (even if you are a Yankees fan ), but this is one time you didn't show it. And halfbreed - let's just say that Rocket River is a strange bird.
[rr style] what the hell are you guys All TALKING abouT? you all sound like a bunch of newbies with sticks up your asses.[/rr style]
I agree with your main points whole-heartedly. I just thought that in the play in question - Bledsoe was not going to get away, and Sapp could have taken him down w/o lifting him up and throwing him down. Could have been worse, could have been better. Not sure if the refs blew the whistle or not before that happened, but if they didn't, then that's on the refs more than Sapp because that play was dead. I've hated all the new rules for qbs, esp when qbs ham up to try and get a wuss call(Carr does this frequently). The slide rule really sucks. What I don't get is that if they really wanted to protect the qb, why did they make intentional grounding so prominent? Enforcing that shows that they do want the qb sacked, the highlight play of the d(other than INT, or the monster hit).
stfu noob. get your own emotions in check before you start throwing crap in a glass house like a monkey on acid.
and the intentional grounding rules are wacky too Let's see. . out side the tackle but back to the line If no one is in the area but blah blah blah I hate that rule. It cheats the Defense out of a well earned sack Either u throw the ball NEAR someone in you uniform . .like you trying to complete a pass .. . or .. . you eat it. simple! No other player can just GIVE UP except the QB Sliding. . this isn't fricking BASEBALL. a LB coming full speed doesn't know if u gonna slide or go head first One of my Favorite Plays Joe Montana was running .. . he got like 9 yards and headed out of bounds the CB [cowboys I think] slows up and let up on him. . . Joe then BOLTs for like 40 more yards CAUSE THAT'S FOOTBALL!! NO MERCY Rocket River
I'm not even surprised by the call, but of course I will still boiling mad. At least we pulled one out finally.
