unfortunately for dallasites, dallas has never hosted a super bowl. and it won't for at least another 40 years or so.
Once they see how successful it is, why would they play it anywhere else? Did you see that Chronicle article yesterday? They said tickets sales would be over 950 million bucks. That's the price of the stadium right there
First of all, that's impossible... how can 120,000 tickets = 950 million dollars? An average price of $9,000 a ticket? Will inflation be that bad by then? Also, the Cowboys won't get much of that revenue... the NFL owns the Super Bowl.
Haha, I didn't think properly. Yeah, it's projected at 93 million, not my 950 million. Anyways, Houston won't host the Big 12 title game, Dallas will!!
Doesn't that Trinity Express rail run from Ft. Worth to Dallas already? I think it goes by just north of Arlington. I need to ride that one day... for the hell of it.
The answer to this is obvious, but since I despise the Cowpies and still miss my Oilers, I won't throw them a bone.
Now that's a big loss ... as was the fact that the Red River shootout decided to stay in the Cotton Bowl. I guess a billion dollars doesn't buy you as much as it used to... they still need a yearly rodeo and a final four to catch up.
It doesn't take that long to do a little research. The Cotton Bowl is moving to Arlington in 2009. http://www.attcottonbowl.com/news_room/releases.php?uid=166
I meant to say the Red River shootout is moving to Arlington in 2010. But yes, the Cotton is also moving to Arlinton as well. In October 2006, the schools agreed to keep the game at the Cotton Bowl through 2010. The future of the game past 2010 could result in the game being moved to Arlington, Texas, as part of the new stadium being built for the Dallas Cowboys, which is also the new site for the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_River_Shootout
If you're going to do research... I'd suggest a better source than WIKIPEDIA! BTW... as of last month, they agreed to keep the game in DALLAS till at least 2015.... with more improvements on the way for the Cotton Bowl. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2844007
If I would've had my iPod back when I lived in Dallas, I would've done that. I was really close to doing it a few times.
