I will be in section 306. We got almost 50 people from our school to go w/ us to the game. Planned it since back in september The group is a mixture of dallas/houston/and other NBA team fans Hopefully Houston will win and I will rub it in their faces for all the **** talking that they do
I guess LAYGO will read this thread and know we will be meeting at Bennigans in Addison. See you guys there! rrj, I'll be emailing you at gmail in an hour. Check it when you can.
For better or worse my roommate from UTD has decided to tag along. I'd ask you to forgive his Rockets ignorance, but there is no forgiveness for so heinous a crime. On the bright side, he may leave early for Heroes. I get my heroes five at a time.
NICE! it'll be cool meeting ya mad-mac. (unless we've met before other than in chat, then I just sound like a doofus)
Just to state it... I met Sir Charles Fan tonight... I asked others in Rockets gear, some said that they knew of the site, but didn't have a username... I guess they view but do not post (oh the agony!)... So anywho, I wore the Battier jersey and it was awesome for the first 3 minutes! I think he scored the first 4 Rockets points... Then late he missed everything, a couple of key misses too... It was fun at first... and a good game until that impossible bounce that Dirk got to go in from three... Next time... next time.
Well, the north side crew met at Bennigans Sports & while we had great service, we were treated less than favorably. The place was so un-packed, we had our choice of seats/layout. Unfortunately, the bar elected to feature the MNF game instead bar wide for audio. We got nice staff people to help us tune a game in, with some volume, to which some old couple/young couple and anti-Rockets nearly immediately requested the volume be turned down. Then slowly, the MNF volume creeped louder as we cheered/high fived, even took elbows to the head (ow). We were disappointed. A lot. I was sad a lot, but no girls to console my pain. And we told lots of tv people to shut up & sit down.
It was great to meet you, LAYGO - an original Rockets Red Rowdie! We had a good showing....rrj_jamz, Mad-Mac, and I think Phong (BBS handle Fizzle) (sorry if I butchered the spelling and I hope I got the handle right). It was a hell of a game until that damn Jason Terry f'd everything up. Someone should of applied knee-to-his-nads and an elbow to that egghead of his. b*stard. Dallas ClutchFans, we got to get together tonight against the Spurs or the next upcoming big game....either the Lakers on the 14th or the Spurs on the 16th. I think we should try out Wizards off 75/Spring Valley. What do you guys think? The Dallas Chapter of ClutchFans is in full effect! This is now the official thread for Dallas ClutchFans! GO ROCKETS!
So we're clear for everyone else, I was never a rowdie, but I'll be damned if I COULDN'T be one! I know I can be loud & goofy. (So did ya'll laugh later? "Barry White")
It was great seeing everyone and I'm down for tonight...Laygo, where's the pic? And no, I didn't laugh, but I give you "E" for effort... Mavs still suck...
I was there in Sec 327...great for viewing the flow of the game, but it felt like I was on a flight coming in for a landing and looking at lots in a subdivision. I saw some other Rockets fans, most of whom were Chinese and YOFs. I enjoyed talking with them, and admired their zeal for the game of basketball. The group of YOFs I was talking to were engineers who live in The Woodlands but work in Dallas during the week quite a bit. They cheered when ANY player made a basket, but were just as frustrated as I was with the low number of shots that Yao took during the game. I now live in Frisco, and will be going to the next Rockets game in Dallas. It would be nice to sit with some folks from this BBS, and to meet up with them before the game.
For those who went to the game, if you look inside the tipoff program there's a free coupon for a haircut at SUPERCUTS. I didn't even notice till this morning when I was emptying out all my pockets. I haven't had a haircut since early June because I can't justify spending 13 bucks on one. Another nice gesture by the Mavericks.
IROC it, it was nice to meet you. I have to admit the only reason I asked if you were from the BBS is because i noticed you were with two kids and a wife in Mavs gear, which met the description you provided on the BBS. It was an enjoyable game up until the 2nd half of the 4th qtr. I felt that our D cost us the game.
You have to have sigs enabled to see my sig about the article I was telilng you about, but the pic (ding brain catching up) is on it's way.
Same here, man... Yep, our D was absent late, the turnovers, and they got a hot streak at the "wrong" time. We seriously (all of us who can) should get together on buying up a section of tickets for the next one up here in Dallas... Have a real Red Rowdies Dallas Chapter as mentioned... That would ROCK it!
