Cowboys had a chance at Leftwich/Grossman/Simms/Ragone and they picked a cornerback. F Terrance Newman. They had Ross and Mario Edwards.

All 4 of the qbs I just mentioned could've been starters in Dallas.

They have Ross and Edwards, they needed a shutdown corner pretty badly. Luckily, the best player available also plays a position that they need. With the exception of Leftwich, none of those players are NFL starters as of now. Also, both Carter and Hutchinson are prospects and they still need to wait and see if they fit. A team doesn't have the time to analyze and develop 3 young QBs. While I hate the Cowboys, they still made the right move on draft day.

Ross and Edwards? I agree they are nice depth CBs but neither one of those guys are Pro-Bowl type CBs.

I am a fan of Leftwich (throw a great, accurate ball about every time) but behind this o-line he would get murdered. he has no mobility. As for Grossman/Simms they both will be decent starters or good backups in a couple years but neither of them would be of much help this year. Ragone I think will have a nice career (not as good as Leftwich) but I dunno I'd take Newman over him. So no way would any of them be starting this year in the NFL.

But I do question wheter Quincy or Hutch is the answer. I like Hutchinson and really dislike Quincy, so I am biased. I do tend to agree with this years team (average O-line at best and limited rushing attack) that Quincy may be a better solution this year.

So I think the Boys needed Newman. Most teams need 3 CBs and they Boys have them now, and there is a good possibility Newman will become the shut down corner every team wants.

I can't remember a NFL team that has ever had a weaker QB/RB combo as this Dallas team, outside of Expansion teams (no offense Texan fans) but Quincy/Hambrick is just a bad combo from your featured positions.

I'm looking forward to an interesting season. Good D, bad O and good coaching. We'll see how far Tuna can take them. Personally 7 wins would be a great year in my book.

Is adrian murrell actually going to be the starting RB?

This dude was pretty good a couple years under Tuna on the Jets, but he hasn't been in the NFL for 2 years.

The Cowboys should definitely start Quincy Carter at QB. Anything that causes them to suck more ass is fine by me...

Neither team is going to be very good this year.

I doubt it. I think Parcells is just playing mind games with Hambrick, but its not going to work. There will be no good starting rb emerging from that group. But I do think Cason will emerge as a good 3rd down back.

If QC is going to be the starter, he isn't going to look as good as he has in the preseason games. With defenses geared up to stop him, they would probly make sure to have a qb spy and try to make him throw deep. I don't trust him throwing long. But I still think he's a better fit.

If I thought chad was worth a damn I'd say play musical chairs with the qbs to throw the d offbalance. :)

Chad Hutchinson actually looks to be the worse of the two this year. The Texans D actually made Quincy look like a pro bowler. I thought that was their strength.:(

How can you trust Hutchinson with the ball? That's my main beef with him. When the offensive line collapses around him, he's too unaware and too unprotective of the pigskin. QC seems to be a bit more aware of his surroundings and has been making better decisions overall.

Regardless of who starts, it's not like it matters much besides to each qb's ego. It can and will change on a whim.

Yeah, as far as I know, CriscoKidd is right about Murrell. I remember reading that Parcells wanted to get the players to know that they were not just competing for a spot with all the guys on the team, but also anybody they can get. Troy may have been a bit too comfy with the big gap between him and the others, so they probably got Murrell to keep Troy working hard. That said, I proabably wouldn't kind Murrell as the backup at all, especially if he's still rusty. I know very little about Murrell, so I don't know if he's anywhere near where he used to be or what. And again like CriscoKidd said, Cason should make a good 3rd down RB. Wiley has sucked, sucks now, and probably will suck more, so he'll probably get it anyway, but he looks pretty tough and fast. Granted, he's pretty small so he won't last very long if we run him a lot, but I like him.

Now for the QB's. Hutch still doesn't seem to be playing good enough to be the no.1 QB. He did have similiar #'s to QC, but I think that was due to us having 1st stringers and the Steelers having 2nd and 3rd. Even then, he still fumbled. QC, on the other hand, looked good, I guess. He moved the ball ok, and more importantly, did not turn it over. His runs really got me worried, though, because I thought he was going to fumble a couple of times. Hopefully, he knows what to do and will protect the ball. I don't care how much he puts the ball out as long as he keeps it. He know has played good for 2 weeks, so I guess he's getting some consistency.

Now, the defense really has been somewhat disappointing to me. They've been missing some tackled, pass rush still sucks (though I saw several times where the Steelers O-line would like throw our guys down by their facemask or tackling them), and the CB's seemed to not do so well against a pretty good WR in Burress. In fact, when I saw Derek Ross give up the TD to him, I remembered Parcells telling Ross in TC that he is a street player and when he meets another street player, he will be in trouble unless he learns better technique. I will say Darren Woodson's hit made me happy, though it may have been illegal.

Well, I guess that's it for now. Until next week...I think.:D

It means quit bs-ing and making blanket statements that "all" fans hate Jerry Jones.

All fans do hate Jerry Jones. I dare you to find someone who doesn't. And making a generalized statement doesnt mean I am 'bsing".

That is crap, man. Believe what you want.

Also, you made a blanket statement that covers the whole spectrum of "all" fans. Your statement was absurd and has no merit whatsoever. So, why make it?

    Drew-
I love the Boys and I like Jerry. Now not saying I agree with everything he has done but bottom line is he helped the team win 3 super bowls. I'm not sure if many other owners could have done what he did.
Now I agree he meddles too much and has done some bad personnel/pr moves but he's the same guy who hired Jimmy Johnson, brought in quality backups for Aikmen (without Buerlein, Kosar and comapny I'm not sure if we get any super bowls), brought in Haley and paid to get Deion.
But I do wish now he would hire a GM but it seems like he is giving Parcells more say in those moves (bringing in all his old players for example).

So you lost your dare :)
