yeh i completely agree. t-mac's played with the ball in his hands his entire life. thats the only way he knows how to play. he should watch a soccer game and see you can do things without the ball to help your team win.

this article fails to mention that tmac is shooting a career high 3pt %.

Yeah, and he's at a career low on 2pt % (41%). 3-point shooting is highly variable for him week-to-week. We can expect that to dip to the low 30s by the ending of the season. And if he doesn't pick it up inside the arc (by actually looking to score off the drive), he'll be a sub-40% shooter.

Yeah, I agree. 7 less shots, it is kinda wired because I belive 13 shots for McGrady is way not enough.

He is shooting pretty well. He is missing his explosivness but once he gets it back he will be better than last year.

b/c most of the 2s he's taking are off the dribble and right now his movement is poor for him to get the lift that's necessary when he's doing it off the dribble. that's why it's so low (and he's not penetrating as much).

the 3s he's taking now are mostly spot up 3s or 3s on the fast break where he takes zero dribbles. he can make those. i think his 3pt% will be around 35-36% when it's all said and done.

i think his fg% will be around 44% when it's all said and done. he looks great shooting to me, just awkward when it's off the dribble b/c of that leg.

tracy's on the decline no doubt. but his game (post up) should adjust that will allow him to extend his career to still play at a relatively high level.

Yea I hope so. I think Tracy should watch some old tapes of Mike after he start to decline and see how he became a much better player while in his 30s.

tracy is very comfortable posting up b/c he's taller than 99% of the players at his position. the problem is he won't get many opportunities down there b/c of yao. a perfect example is artest. ron is struggling b/c he's not posting up as much b/c of yao and he's a perimeter player right now.

I agree. But its kind of unfair to say "well, that 3 point percentage should come back down because his career average is the low 30s" but then assume that he'll shoot as bad overall all season.

He'll probably end the season shooting about his averages, I would imagine it will be even higher as the season goes on.

What I'd be worried about is if the mental part of McGrady's recovery is tied to a resistance to Adelman's system.

tmac on the decline is better than the majority of the league

I think he just needs to get stronger and get into a rhythm

McGrady for Wallace and Billups sounds really good about now.

    Yao
    Wallace
    Battier
    Artest
    Billups / Alston

Eh... but that trade would have the potential to bite us in the ass hard. Wallace and Artest both are expiring. We don't NEED another PF either. Scola and Landry are providing good bang for their buck. Billups would be a nice addition tho, but if the trade essentially becomes Billups for Tmac, I'm taking Tmac.

Plus, imgaine Wallace and Artest on the same team. OMG. Thats a tech a game at least.

The stats are pretty worrying though.

But i still think T-mac is gonna bump up the numbers. Same with the rest of the Big 3.

Of course his numbers wont be 25 ppg, but it should/I hope go up to around the 18-20's. Cuz we have a lotta scoring options right now. Yao, T-mac, Artest, Scola and Landry Pitching in. The points are basically not much to worry about

The assist numbers, i thought were a lil higher....
