    but

IMO, they have loads more talent than the Rockets. How many good shooters do they have? How many do we have? You want Terry shipped out, send him here. With the looks that Rafer gets, Terry would score 25-30 points a game. Howard is a beast. Harris is better than any of the PG's we have. Stackhouse, old and washed up? Sign him up, the Rockets would he hugely better by just adding him. And I will take their coach too.

You can always root for the Mavericks and cut out the middleman.

Sounds familiar? That goes for us too. As much as everyone hates the Mavs, let's not delve too deep into their problems its not like we're rolling over opponents left and right (I know this is NBA dish, but still).

Soft superstar(s), no defense, no hunger, no intensity, etc. etc. etc. we're in the same boat but they have more talent and have had the same team for longer with (maybe, but not really) a better coach.

I honestly don't have a clue as to what's wrong with them, so I don't want to act like I do, but I think they are not believing in Avery. I mean, Avery caught a lot of heat for adjusting the line-up to the Warriors but it's the players who looked foolish. They are probably still mad about that.

If they are coasting, that is ridiculous. That's like saying the Rockets are coasting until the first round at which point they will turn it up and make it out...the only team I think should coast are the Spurs. Everyone else doesn't deserve to. Their seasons are not gauranteed.

What are you talking about? That team should've beat the Lakers in 99-00. That was one of the best teams to never win a title.

You are right, it did have a lot of second bananas, but that doesn't mean you can't win look at the Pistons from 04 or even late 80s Pistons.

You can win without have that big superstar.

They still aren't fixed. If the Mavs don't make a major trade (I know Dirk is untouchable) their best days are behind them. What scares me is Jason Kidd being traded to the Mavs.

If they do trade for Kidd, they are mortgaging their future for a title, because there is no way that they won't be forced to give up Josh Howard to get him. The thing is, with Miami, playing in the Eastern Conference was a huge factor in their title. With how stacked the west is right now, I'm not sure if pairing up Dirk with Kidd would even put them over the top.

They are playing better now, especially Dirk, but I still think their roster peaked the last two seasons and they missed their time to strike while the iron was hot. This team does not have a championship run in them as currently constructed.

The Mavs are in first place in the Western Conference.

Their record against other NBA teams that were supposed to be contenders this season

    San Antonio 1-1
    Phoenix 1-0
    Utah 1-1
    Detroit 1-0
    Golden State 2-0
    Orlando 1-0
    Houston 3-0
