One of the worst games the Cowboys have played all year, and they still won. I expect that they will play well against Green Bay.
You don't understand the issue. After you get on the PA to announce the call, it is too late to change the call as the discussion between refs on the merit of the penalty call takes place before the call is announced. To not offer an explanation makes it worse. This is a bad precedent to set as it could lead to having to wait until the ball is snapped for refs to change calls on the previous play.
Are you seriously this biased? Hitchens clearly grabbed Pettigrew's Jersey and then grabbed Pettigrew's arm as he attempted to make the catch! All this while having his back turned to the play and never turning around to make a play on the ball. It wasn't just a pass interference; it was defensive holding and PI on the same play. You Cowboys fans...just WOW. WOW.
So Pettigrew never pushed off? or does blind Cowboy hatred not allow you to see that. Haters be Hatin'! How bout those Cowboys?
Yes because Pettigrew was just an innocent pass catcher running his route. Definitely no hands on the facemask by Pettigrew, noooo, not at all. Anyway, Lions fans and Cowboys fans need to stop b*tching at the refs and the Cowboys, etc. and focus on Stafford and his O-coordinator, and his coach not going for it on 4th and 1, and his o-line forgetting how to block with the game on the line. The Lions lost. The season is over for them. Get over it and move on.
Even though the Cowboys were gifted that win, I think they'll actually look good and possibly win against GB. They're just a different team on the road this year... almost as if all the pressure of being good and impressing fans in that monstrosity of a stadium is lifted, and they just let their talent do the talking.
OK, then explain why Dez didn't get flagged for running on to the field, making contact with an official AND doing so without his helmet? Looks like having the NFL head of officiating ride on your party bus really pays off...
Right. Detroit got screwed on that call no doubt but that's because the refs were total incompetent r****ds. The who crew should have been fired on the spot. Blandino just "explained" what happened on the NFL Network but his "explanation" as to why Dez wasn't flagged was total bulls**t. I guarantee you that if Johnson or Tate had done so, they would have been flagged like nobody's business. This whole thing just does not pass the smell test as it was Dean "Party On The Bus" Blandino who was on the other end of the replay review hotline. Now, the NFL gets its dream matchup - Ice Bowl II - which coincidently, is a far better game than GB-Det would have been. Funny how these things work out for the NFL.
Players and coaches step onto the field all the time, especially after flags. It's NOT an automatic penalty, it's up to the discretion of the Ref as to whether it warrants a penalty.
The excuses made by Cowboys fans astound me. From "it was just one call" or "the receiver was face masking the defender and didn't allow him to turn around to play the ball" Well, the defender was beaten all the way and did'nt make the slightest effort to turn around for the ball. I'm not a Lions fan but I could feel the momentum switch after that injustice and the Lions jus weren't the same. Karmas a b**** and here's hoping that the Cowboys lose in these playoffs in a most heart breaking way possible and then these annoying Cowboys fans in Houston can crawl back into their little mouse holes.
Cowboys have already run the gauntlet on most heart breaking ways possible to lose a game. We've seen it all. I won't be phased one iota in anything that happens in the GB game. We know the worst is possible. We've seen it before. But, something else is also possible. Cowboys were doubted by everyone, including their own fans, this season with projections to win four games. What's happening now is all gravy...even if it gets burnt in Green Bay. I expect a good game. No game is a given gimme. And, yes, it was a bad call and some of the arguments trying to defend why the flag should have been picked up ignore logic and the rules. But, it's on the refs. The Cowboys aren't going to stop playing and say "can you change that call back to PI?". The fact that all the hate is going to the Cowboys shows it is just about Cowboys haters wanting to hate and using it as the tool to vent. If you hated the Cowboys before or were looking for a reason, well...there you go...the whole world of haters latched on to one. "Cowboys didn't deserve it so hope they lose big in GB"...big whoop. I don't care.
This thread is really bringing out the crazy Texans fans... Beat Texans (Check) Win Division when we were projected to win 5 games (Check) Win Playoff game (Check) Draft and Develop talent that will make you solid for years (Check) Win or lose it doesn't matter what happens in GB. Proud of this team. You make your own luck in the NFL. That game was not lost on one call.
