I wouldn't say that at all. But Cuban is being forced to conjure a lineup made from the scraps the contenders didnt want. That said, mediocrity is all that is on Cuban's menu for next year, and maybe more. What I wonder is whether Cuban has any long range plan at this point. He cant reach the top, and seemingly doesnt want to tank, so whats up?
Cuban has been cheap since he broke up his championship team. Should have resigned Chandler. Now he's hoping that some new franchise player will fall into his laps with all the cap room he saved up. We'll see if he gets lucky.

getting him to be your starting center is like using a car that's about to be scrapped as your primary mode of transportation
Very valid point. The only issue is that they've done this two offseasons in a row now and struck out during both.
No, having quality young assets AND caproom is what matters to a rebuilding team. Unfortunately for the Mavs they don't have quality assets, and by signing mediocre players they won't likely get much help in the draft.
That pretty much describes it there. A bunch of decently decent filler centers, with dbert continuing that mold
what a few seasons will do. Mavs and Rockets seemed to have flip flopped. Rockets were a "solid" team with Bear. Didn't make the playoffs though. I think the sign should read "Welcome to the annual 14th pick in the draft Dallas"
