Dally is neither here nor there. We will be hovering around 0.500 if we sign Dalembert while maintaining the same roster, absolute worst place to be in the NBA - mediocrity.
I disagree. We're a .500 or slightly above team right now as is. How is adding an actual center who is a rim protector not help us at all?
Ah. He said sig. I think I need another cup of coffee. Fair enough. I guess it still hasn't sunk in that Chuck is gone yet. Also, that handle was actually made in reference to Charles Barkley, not the Chuckwagon. Just shows that we need the ability to change our handle.
1. Chuck was a good hustle guy (we valued him a lot more cause he was on our team). Played hard all the time. Fact is, he was only 6'6 and not athletic. He was a good on ball defender against average PFs and C in the league. Was not good at scoring the ball. Ideal backup PF. Against the better teams with 6'9+ PFs and C's he had little impact in the course of a full game. 2. We have no idea what this new coaching staff can do. Give him a chance with THIS team and see what he can do. He can and will help the bigs we have right now. He was a HOFer at the position. Adding a 7 footer to this team would be a big help. Dalembert is not a All star but he is a good rebounder and protects the rim. That is something we have needed on this team for the past 5 years.
I agree the only thing this team is missing is a Center. Bring Dalembert in and we become a playoff team. He is comparable to Chandler.
Wouldn't it be nice if we signed him cheap this year, used him as our starter this season, then next season sign Howard. I wonder if Hakeem actually worked for the franchise if we would have more luck attracting free agents.
Dalambert would've been great next to yao. Right now, I would rather see if thabeet can do what he did in terms of shot blocking and meeting guys at the rim. The money spent on dalembert should be saved for howard or someone of that ilk.
Dalembert would do good in that starting center role. He and Thabeet would be a good defensive 1-2 punch at the 5.
