I think the rockets have a good chance to beat the lakers.

The lakers are not a prefect team. They need a good perimeter defender to win the title.

Kobe was a great perimeter defender, but his defense is declining this year. And, they need his enegy for the offense.

I really can't make that conclusion, right now. I think there are a few teams in the West that could give LA a tough series and even beat them. I believe a healthy Houston team is one of them.

Houston has alot of things going for them that SA, doesn't.

1 - Who on the Lakers can slow down Yao Ming, one on one?

2 - Who is going to defend Brooks, Wafer, Landry, and Artest? Our backup guards and forwards are a bit more versatile and skilled than the Lakers.

3 - Didn't this same team almost lose to us without T-Mac and Artest?

4 - The Spurs really have no halfway decent big men, outside Duncan...Obracio and Kurt Thomas. The Rockets have Yao, Scola, Artest (on occassions), Landry, Mutombo, and possibly Dorsey (if he makes the 12 man roster).

5 - Our defense has actually been better than the Spurs, this year.

It's kind of early to be giving up on the season, I could see if the Lakers were undefeated or only one loss team, but they are not...

Only thing I worry about with Rockets is health and team play. If T-Mac and Artest can just be willing passers, this team is going to be tough to beat in the playoffs, especially when we get past the 1st Round...then we won't have anything to lose at that point.

The inconsistency and lack of inspired play of our players does not lead me to believe this at all. It's already half way through the season and some of the players are still playing part time. As much talent Houston already has, I think they need one more piece to compete with the Lakers, Celtics, Cavs, and even the Spurs.

    base on what ?
    and the Rox ?

the Lakers will easily beat the cancer-infested Rox team, chemistry-wise, like a drum.

I see the LAkers first unit beating the Rox, but close.

I see the LAkers' bench mob running the Rox 2nd unit to death.

in the eand, an easy victory for the LAkers, a deeper and more talented team.

Of course Houston can beat the Lakers in the playoffs but there are a lot of "If" factors.

    If this if that

The lakers are swept by the magic this season.

We have what the magic has, a super C + good perimeter players.

The Rox don't play like the Magic, who does have a cancer like TMac on the team.

The Rox's style of play, and its relatively lack of depth, is tailor-made for the Lakers.

Well judging by whatever you call a cancer I guess you could say Kobe last year.

I don't really see how T-mac is a cancer. Then again if he's a cancer then I guess Artest is a cancer too.

If you're calling cancer a player who doesn't play hard sometimes then I guess there are a lot of cancers floating around on teams contending for the West teams.

THe reason why Houston is winning now is because the bench and supporting cast has been playing, so well.

Especially over the last month or two, the Lakers' bench has accomplished more in short time, but in pure talent and skill. The Rockets have far and away better players. Right now, the Rockets have been winning, mainly because of players off the bench, while our stars have been injured for the most part. Do you think the Lakers could stay as competitive as Houston has without 2/3 of their best players. Who one on the Lakers' bench has played as well as or is as talented as Landry, Brooks, and Wafer?

When both squads are healthy, who on the Lakers' bench is as good and talented as Ron Artest or as good as defender as Mutombo and Artest?

You should realize most Houston squads don't really peak until mid part of year or in the playoffs...we'll have to see how these teams look going into the playoffs.

Lakers fan boys are funny. Now they are winning they said they have a solid bench. Once they lost, they blame the bench, blame Odom, blame Gasol and blame Sun Yue for sucking so much but they never blame their own cancer Kobe!

Lakers without Gasol 1st round exit. Guess who to blame? Odom, Parker, Brown and the list go on and on.

Play with injured fingers? Only drama queen make it like a real deal. Yao played with injured shoulder for the last 2 seasons did yao ever mention about? An injured finger? Is not like kobe played with injured hand or broken leg why make so big deal about it?

Kobe is great but he is not god! He don't need you to bad mouthed other players in this case T-mac to make him looks great! He is not god that's why he needs other 3 all stars to win. Odom may be drunk at times but stop blaming every time lakers lost! Is getting old!
