Jaygup should be getting all the backup SG minutes behind Green IMO. KPJ/Schroder Green/Jaygup EGo/Mathews Tate/KJ Wood/Sengun Not seeing a lot of regular rotation minutes for newly signed Nix. Unless injury or load management.
We got Nix signed for 4 years at the minimum. I’d rather give Schroeder the opportunity to play and see what he can do with a small window. He won’t get more money through a SnT, but another team may want to offload someone the Rockets like rather than signing him outright, so it could benefit them to give him an opportunity.
There are plenty of guys that bust from college as well despite looking like NBA players. I'd trust Nix over a late FRP in 2022, though I expect most FRPs bust as well. He looks like he'll be a backup PG to me. He might be better than that. He might be worse. The threes are really the only part that worries me. If he hits threes, he's a rotation player even if he has some trouble inside as I think the passing and spacing make him playable. For age, what Nix is doing is not normal for the G League. On Hartenstein, I've been actually meaning to watch some Clippers to see him.
Oh yeah, I agree with you on Nix's age vs. what he's doing thing. He's doing great for his age in the G League. If you throw that in, no doubt, he's intriguing. On Hartenstein, I haven't watched him play with the Clippers, but he's been getting 10-15 rotation minutes here for the most part from what I saw when I peeked to see what he's been doing a few days ago. I guess he's a rotation guy, but not a starter or remotely-close to it. Again -- just from looking at stats. Looks like he's apt to collect those fouls, still, too. lol.
We should not have gotten Schroeder, he won't be here next year and we need more playing time for others.....Gordon and Schroder were a complete waste now. DD
We already know what Schroeder is. He has been in the NBA for years. What we need to know is if Nix will be able to hold down the backup PG next year, so we can determine if we want to sign Schroeder. Schroeder is not going to sign a one year contract with us. He will want multi-year and at close to 8m. In my opinion, trading for Schroeder and playing him is the 2nd dumbest move by Stone. Silas is still no. 1
Good... they were holding Anthony Lamb back, anyway. Lamb just went off for 21/16/8 ... WHY U NO BRING HIM UP?!
I have to disagree on Schroeder, he's here to help develop Green and he's doing a pretty decent job of getting him going and setting him up in the offense. Green is was and will be priority number one at least until the season ends and maybe into next year. I don't much like it because I think some other players have earned minutes he's been gifted based off of his draft position .... but that's reality. High draft picks are going to take priority on rebuilding teams as there is so much invested in them.
