Looks good. Jackson must be standing on his knees or something though, since he's two feet taller than that ;)

How were those guys not tutored or cultivated by PJ? I'm not saying it was all PJ, but he is a big reason why those guys made it to the "next level."

I love JVG, he is no doubt a great coach. And as much talent as PJ has had on his teams, he got them to play together and got his stars to step up and be the stars they are today.

JVG will not be fired and PJ will not be our coach, but it would be very interesting if he did.

I am not PJ supporter, here I guess all the blam for JVG is from not using YAO correctly, too many high screen and defend small quick guard. YAO is not really in the offensive system

I would be the first to hail our new ant overlord.

Jackson brings a thinking style of play to his players and credibility to back it up. His role players have stepped up some ridiculous production to the point where players like Devean George, Horry and Derrick Fisher have gotten fat contracts above their normal market worth.

Jackson would bring a different approach to the Rockets and I don't think the defense would suffer too much.

If I were looking for a CEO to run the company, I'd choose the one who has the most experience in success and has a definite idea of getting there.

The Rockets can not be the next Sacramento Queens.

    Phil Jackson has a heart?

Do people forget one of the most talented teams ever self-imploded with Jackson at the helm?

he may be an oppurtunist, but he does know how to take teams to the next level, the bigger picture here is that phil can take the rockets past being good players on a good team, we can achieve greatness. However, Van Gundy has done nothing wrong, he does not need to be released, if we fired him for Phil, we would be as oppurtunistic as him, maybe even wores because we know better. Look, if Phil wanted to make a good team adn win championships he would be kissing Isiah Thomas's ass right now, if Phil wants to win championships, he'd be in Houston. Houston is the "it" city now, the All-Star Break will be here next year, Yao and T-mac connect better than Kobe and Shaq ever could, winning is now in our blood, while I may not like gundy, or agree with him, he is the coach for a reason, and I am some dumb internet fan for a reason. Gundy knows what he's doing, I don't think it would be right or fair to cut him before his peak. Right on!

Van Gundy has a peak? Exactly what is that peak, 5'1"?

The same could be said for what happened with the Hakeem/Barkley/Pippen team.

The whole Laker fiasco was w/ the players, not the coach. Kobe vs. Shaq, Kobe vs. Malone. That's like blaming Rudy T. for Pippen and Barkely getting into it.

Mr. "Tied for the Most Rings ever in the History of the NBA" didn't come with that moniker, he had a chance to earn it. If you dump every coach for someone like that you're going to screw up your franchise. We don't need Phil Jackson.

I don't think JVG needs to be replaced.

I'm not a PG fan either, I mean, he's basically had the best players to coach, and has only proven he can win with a really good team. Riley has proven he can build a champion.

Gundy has proven he can take a team with some talent but some clear issues at many positions and milk it all for it's worth.

Imagine what Gundy could do if he had a team that wasn't a patchwork of scrubs around a couple of stars?

PJ had the best stars and awesome role-players. I don't think PJ would have done much more with the Rockets then Gundy. Maybe PJ would have lost by 39 points instead of 40.

so if edc were a chicagonian around the time of Jordan's first years with Doug Collins would he have wanted nobody other than Red Aurbach to coach his team. Same with Rudy T, would it have been no other coach than a championship caliber coach then? i don't think so i think its just personal with him even though he may say otherwise. it's personal and he doesnt even know the man who is jvg. its about appearances with this guy. what the hells that about. he wants a man who looks the part, who acts the part so its only fitting there is a poster named gucci who agrees with him. mabye if jeffvangundy acted more like a mayor running for office and was freshed dressed with polo cologne, he'd be edc's guy.

Has JVG proved he cannot win with this team yet? This team has improved, so give the man another year to bring this team deep into the playoff. I don't even like the guy,

If Red Auerbach wanted to come out of retirement NOW, I would want him for head coach of the Rockets.

JVG is a good teacher, and a good micromanager, but he has not proved he is a winner at any level. The collapse at the end of last season, and the embarassment in game seven introduces serious questions about how much of a "finisher" he is...

JVG took the Rockets to the playoffs for the first time since the Hakeem era...something Rudy T failed to do.

I love Rudy T, but to say all the bad things about JVG is just wrong. This Rockets team is clearly much better then last year, much better than it was at the beginning of the year, and yet you guys are housing JVG? Makes no sense to me.

Phil Jackson won a title with the Bulls in his second full season as head coach.

Phil Jackson won a title with the Lakers in his first full season as head coach.

Rudy Tomjanovich won a title with the Rockets in his second full season as head coach.

JVG got the Rockets booted in a game 7 embarassment in the first round in his second full season as their head coach.
