I don’t necessarily compare this situation to Durant since we all know Durant just wanted the easy way to his first championship. Really all I was doing was speculating. Especially now that we saw how humiliating of a loss the Cavs just had, the chance he comes to Houston is even higher now.
That is such a stupid deal its not even funny. Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum are two of the best deals in the league and the Celtics are going into next season as the favorites to come out of the eastern conference. Celtics should do absolutely nothing because they are cooking something very nice right now.
No we're not, Boston is already the eastern conference favorites and have some ridiculous talent for pennies on the dollar in Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum.
I get that, but youd be crazy to think Boston doesnt want Lebron James on their team and wouldnt do what is necessary to add him.
No, Boston really doesn't want him. Go read their sub-reddit and I don't blame them. They have a roster that could actually compete with Golden State in the next few years, they're a very long and versatile defensive team as well. They'd be losing that bright future if they got LeBron and looking at what they'd lose they'd just become the 2016 Cavs in Celtics uniforms with Al Horford becoming Kevin Love.
Thats fine, but I'm just sayin, theres no guarantee that young group eventually wins a championship. With Lebron....man idk that puts them over the Warriors in a heartbeat.
Probably a reaction to The Big Leads story about 4 entertainment sources (non-NBA) saying LeBron to LA which wasn’t totally accurate.
It’s no secret Paul George has wanted to be with Lakers for yrs, but not as the lone star. LeBrons wife wants to be in L.A. full-time. The kids will be in a private elite school in L.A. probably security guards every 10 feet. Both PG and LeBron are coordinating this union. Dark horse is Kawhi trying to force his way out of S.A. by playing 9 games this season while making $18.9 mil. Kawhi group has listed Lakers/Clippers/Knicks/ & 1 more team as desired destinations. Will Spurs pull the trigger or risk Kawhi playing no games for $20 mil this season? Did JJ Redick get enough money from his 1 yr stay in Philly ($23 mil). Will he join a super team for peanuts? L.A. return (not Clippers)?.....to play with PG/LeBron? That would be Korver replacement in L.A. DeAndre Jordan, played in L.A., LeBron wanted DJ with Cavs this past season. Would DJ take less to play with LeBron/PG/ ?Kawhi? Return to L.A.(not with Clippers) on 1 yr deal? CP3. If Rockets don’t give CP3 5 yrs with max money, no trade clause, no team option on final years, will the Lakers give CP3 4 yrs, top money, no trade clause, player options? Return of CP3 to L.A. while playing buddy LeBron? Ariza. L.A. hometown. Won championship in L.A. ??? or just leverage against Houston to pay him. Cousins, would love to join LeBron/Paul George in L.A.. Pels say they won’t pay max money and/or max money. Could he play half th year or more? Would he be efficient? Then there is Rondo, Tyreke Evans, Wayne Ellington, Luc MaM, Avery Bradley, Will Barton, Mike Scott, Speights, Amir Johnson, Aron Baynes, Gerald Green....would they take peanuts to play for LeBron/PG and either Kawhi, Cousins or CP3 while living in Los Angeles. In order of who LeBron/PG13 want as 3rd star: My guess is: 1) Kawhi 2) CP3 3)DJordan 4) Cousins. Lakers (18/19)..............................................................................Rockets (18/19) Deng $18 mil.........................................................................Ryan Anderson $20.4 L Ball $7.5 mil........................................................................Harden $30.4 Ingram $5.8 mil......................................................................Eric Gordon $13.5 Kuzma $1.7 mil......................................................................Tucker $8 Josh Hart $1.7 mil...................................................................Nene $3.7 Zubac $1.6 mil (non-guaranteed)............................................Chinanu $1.5 Bryant $1.4 mil.(non-guaranteed)............................................Zhou Qi $1.4 (non-guaranteed) Julius Randle $5.6 (QO)..........................................................Huertas $2.0 (QO....will renounce) approx team payroll $44.7 mil..................................................Capela ($3.4 QO) .................................................................................................approx team payroll $84.9 mil $44.7..........................................................................................$84.9 mil -$1.6 (Zubac)...........................................................................—$11.8 (*Ryan Anderson stretch provision) -$1.4 (Bryant)..........................................................................= approx $73.1 -$1.7 (Ennis) -$5.6 (renounce QO Julius Randle) -$7.5 (Lonzo Ball trade) -$10 *(Deng stretch provision) = approx $17 mil team payroll *This is assuming neither Houston nor Lakers being able to trade Ryno or Deng. So Rockets need to deal with Ryan Anderson; sign LeBron; sign CP3; Capela; sign Ariza?GG?Luc MaM? to peanuts. Can Rockets keep Eric Gordon? https://en.hispanosnba.com/salaries/houston-rockets Lakers deal with Deng; trade Ball; sign free agents to peanuts. https://en.hispanosnba.com/salaries/los-angeles-lakers Same crap of signing shooters at dirt cheap price for both Houston and Lakers in the end.... only LeBron has a house in L.A.
The big difference would be that Lebron would have a chance to win in Houston, he'd be throwing the rest of his career away going to LA.
can we really rely on dan gilbert facilitating lebron to houston though? that's the only way it will happen unless lebron's boner to beat the warriors is hard enough to where he'd take an mle here which I doubt.
This post game interview is live right now, pretty eerie. He says 2010 was the toughest decision of his career, and always will be, but his family is his #1 priority right now. He also said he broke his hand after game 1. Self inflicted, accidental. Anger injury.
He went along with it getting him to Miami.... I mean what it comes down to is if Lebron wants a chance to win or not. When you don't stick to your guns and you accept what the team wants, you end up screwed like Melo. I don't think Lebron will make the same mistake.
