Orlando Magic (The eastern conference Champ)
    Dwight Howard
    Hedo Turkoglu
    Rashard Lewis
    Courtney Lee
    Jameer Nelson/Rafer Alston

    Houston Rockets
    Dwight Howard
    Donatas Montiejunas/Terrence Jones
    Chandler Parsons
    James Harden
    Jeremy Lin/Patrick Beverley

Which one is a better team?

Really hard for me to say which is better. Wasn't Nelson hurt that playoffs and came back but didn't play too well?

I think the Rockets are but its close. Hedo and Rashard were great back then, and Nelson was better than Lin. Harden is what gives the Rockets the edge IMO

Which is harder the Easter or Western conference? Thats why these teams cannot be fully compared. The West is full of great teams right now, while the EC in 2009 only had Lebron and a bunch of scrubs on the Cavs. the success of the Magic in 2009 cannot be compared to the Rockets in 2013. Ur I do think Rox are better

    Dwight Howard > Dwight Howard
Hedo Turkoglu < Donatas Montiejunas/Terrence Jones
    Rashard Lewis > Chandler Parsons
    Courtney Lee < James Harden
    Jameer Nelson/Rafer Alston < Jeremy Lin/Patrick Beverley

So it's D12 and the new age Rockets :p

Have you never seen Hedo play when was on the Magic? He was the primary pick & roll ball handler with Howard on that team, and was arguably borderline All-Star level. Played out of his mind during the playoffs too. Definitely better than our PFs. Also Rashard defended the 4 spot I think, so you got the matchups wrong too.

Also Jameer Nelson, for what it's worth, was a 1-time All-Star too.

That Magic team was no fluke.

Magic didn't have anyone that's as good as James Harden this team will be better especially if we get a happy healthier Dwight Howard

Keep in mind, Lewis and Hedo were playing all star caliber during that playoff run. Hedo especially was playing out of his mind, he was an unstoppable point forward. Howard was obviously the best player on that squad but they had some pieces.

Talent wise obviously the rockets are better, but the league is better and overall i'd say the chemistry on this team is still to be determined.

I think Magic would have a better chance against the Lakers in the Finals if Nelson didnt came back. He was clearly not in 100% and Alston was playing very well just like how it hurt us when JLin came back against the Thunder in the 1st round.

I have seen a glance or two when he was playing for that Magic, so probably youre right. In the context of PGs and conf quality in 2008-2009, 1 time all star Jameer Nelson was not better.
