It has been reported by Rockets media that Melo is or was actually sick.

 

The worst part about this whole stupid fiasco is that when we have to cut a player who hasn't been good in years for not being good there will be blowback against the Rockets for "scapegoating."

 

i feel like all these players tweeting about Melo dont know about the personal issues involved. only listening to the media that its all the rockets fault..

one of the many concerns we questioned before his acquisition. that's just the reality of dealing with a higher profile player. it comes with the drama/attention. now here we are dealing with unnecessary issues that were nowhere to be found a season ago and its been that way from day 1 for this season

Stephen Jackson is completely wrong here. Carmelo may be a more talented offensive player than 50 or 100 guys in the league, but the way he plays does not lead to wins.

Those 50 to 100 guys that he may be better than may compliment a team better by playing their role and doing their job.

The problem with Carmelo is that he isn’t a role player. He is someone who needs the offense to go through him. That’s how he plays. The problem is, he isn’t good enough anymore to be the guy that everyone else plays off of. If Carmelo is your #1 guy, your team will suck. And he doesn’t know how to be a role player. He doesn’t compliment the team like role players do. So he sucks as a role player too.

So Carmelo is in this weird limbo of not being good enough anymore to be a main option, and he doesn’t know how to be a role player.

So that’s why he can’t really fit in.

 

Hate this signing so much.

Knew he'd be a bad fit but not on top of everything else you have everyone in basketball criticizing the Rockets for trying to scapegoat Melo even though the GM and coach are going out of there way to praise Melo.

If he DOES get cut, it's not because we are scapegoating him, it's because the team told him he won't be a regular rotation member going forward and asked him how he wants to proceed. He wants out so he can play.
