Dmo started 14 games last year, so McHale found playing time for him. Unfortunately, DMo didn't take advantage of his opportunity. McHale decided to let TJones and others have DMo's minutes in order to find someone that could actually produce.

In this league if you are playing for a team that is in win now mode, you need to produce when you get your shot. DMo stumbled when McHale first gave him a chance and so DMo had to wait for his next chance. It now looks like DMo has figured things out and is proving himself to be someone that can contribute. I say good for him, and let's hope it continues. McHale has been complimenting DMo in his comments to the press, so maybe we will be seeing more of DMo.

Surprisingly D-Mo is doing a better job defending guys Jones has trouble guarding, it's really nice to have a skilled 7 footer at the 4.

Hoping we keep both Motiejunas and Jones. I can see both players improving enough to be a solid one-two punch at the foru. Dare I say they could be our new Scolandry on cheap rookie scale contracts. In my opinion, the biggest area of concern is at point guard, and backup center. Beverley has been shooting lights out since coming back from injury, but he's still inconsistent in his second year. Lin is obviously talented, but pairing him with Harden takes away from both players. Honestly, as much as I love Lin and Beverley, I think we'd be better off moving both players for a guy like Lowry and reviving the Lowry-Brooks one-two punch at the point.

It's funny how on this board when one person does well fans have to throw another player under bus and blame everything on them or they just wanna trade them. Even though I know you were just joking there is a real trend on this board to say hey Lin is playing good bench Bev, Harden was great trade Lin! it really is stupid.

Making him a bench player would have been ideal but completely cutting his minutes was not the way to go.

He's playing much better, so I think the benching helped.

so let's bench him for another 2 years, I'm pretty sure he would also play better at age of 25, because he works hard in training. The point is, with consistent playing time and hard work in practice you improve much faster than just layin it down in practice, so if you're a coach and you see DMO in your future plans whether long term or trade, you give him minutes.

Not that surprising - he's longer and bigger and still reasonably athletic for his size.

The game finally seems to be slowing down for Donuts. He's playing more within himself, in the flow of the game, making good rotations, good decisions. God knows, it's taken long enough. I think we'd be crazy to trade him.

The more playing time Jones got, the more we see of his potential. I think DMO is itching to do the same

I'm very happy for DMo. I hope and think he will continue to improve, if given time on the court to do so. I think the key is McHale playing him at the 4 and not putting him in as a center. Hopefully Asik comes back soon and DMo can be TJones officially backup 100% of the time, instead of using Casspi or anyone else at the PF spot.

I think with TJones and DMo manning the PF spot only on a regular basis, we can go deep into the playoffs with them. But most importantly, I think they will both continue to improve if this happens, making the Rockets a much stronger team. Hopefully Asik or Smith gets back on the court soon to man the C position behind DH.

I really like his rebounding stats. He is really busting his butt out there and it's well needed. Casspi just doesn't have the height or strength to get rebounds playing the 4 spot. Now, I would like Dmo to get some post up at times. He really has a nice touch near the rim and can pass.

dwight, tj, and dmo are all we need at the 4/5. they compliment each other and give us a little of everything. post defense, post offense, PnR defense, we side shot blocking, rebounding, floor spreading, high post, face up... between the 3 of them we have someone for everything. and the best part is TJ and DMO and really young. it would be a mistake to trade dmo right now.

Dmo didn't do that poorly when he was part of the rotation.

If you trade them while they are high, when they come off of that buzz, they're going to be pissed!! ;)

    So true!

I remember the game vs Pistons when DMo entered the game at the end of 2nd, made a bad play, and got benched for the rest of the game. 4 freaking seconds!

How do young players learn if not by making mistakes??
