Those two aren't even comparable. Čabarkapa was never much of a player and he was plagued by injuries (retired at the age of 25). Planinić was young and inexperienced when he first came to NBA, but he's made himself a respectable career in Europe and I'm sure he'd now have a place on an NBA roster.

Back on topic, Donatas' only resemblance (an important one, though) to Ibrahimović are those flashes of brilliance early in his career. I'm not sure if DMo can repeat Zlatan's success, but I think he'll be a nice asset for the Rockets in the future.

Zlatan may not have won champions leauge but he is definitely a winner! He has won a title with every team that he has represented: ajax, juventus, inter milan, barcelona, milan ac and he will win the french title with his current team Paris saint germain. Zlatan has won all those titles being the main guy except his team in barca.

Dmo makes a few post moves and now he has high potential? Don't get me wrong I like his post game but his shot is not good, nor his defense and rebounding.

Zlatan is a superstar, DMO is a rookie trying hard to suck less.

    Not even close.

    Perfectly suits Cruyfs statement.

I don't know who Zlatan is but the OP's analogy makes sense.

You guys remember Luis "Scrubola" his rookie year especially in the earlier part of the season? He came into the league as a 27 year old rookie being a superstar as an international player. His skills were definitely there and he had a good first season but he was frustrating to watch often times with his clumsiness and boneheaded plays but you also saw the flashes of brilliance that made him an international superstar. As he got more accustomed and better adjusted to the league he became the Scola that we all loved.

Of course Scola was much more polished and older when he came into the league and already established so his learning curve was pretty quick. With D-mo you have a 22 year old that is very raw but you can see the potential is there. He has a lot of things to work on but I think he's realistically a 3 year project....2 if he's a quick learner and determined. I think a lot of the board had extremely high/unrealistic expectations from him before the season even started and those expectations only grew when he gave us a little taste of what he could do. I think the best thing when it comes to D-Mo is to be patient.

DMo is Russell Crowe. Skinny and weak as a youth:

    And then...

D-Mo would, and it'd be a kicked ball violation.

If you would have read my first post you would know that I meant Zlatan when he played for Ajax, he was also sort of a rookie, who made a lot of mistakes, but showed flashes of brilliance

Using Ibras Ajax career as an example? You've got to be Dutch. Unfortunately, I'm on the PSV side of the rivalry, which hurt on Sunday with that loss.
