DMo is one who didn't report ... for his rights. Apparently he didn't want Rockets to match Rockets were fine with the offer per the match Anyhoot. Let's not rehash this. Your point is to get to the end contract, Morey had to use an offer sheet. I'm saying he matched, so what happened after that was not planned ahead of time. Too cpomlkicated for me to say they had to fake not reporting to help Morey negoatiate on final contract ... all while risking the league stopping it
To me that was all speculation. Why do I say that? Because he reported after agreeing to/negotiating a contract for just a little more money with much more favorable terms for the Rockets. Who got the better deal on the newer contract?
@FANfrom86toNow That's all too complicated for me to say they had to fake not reporting to help Morey negoatiate on final contract ... all while risking the league stopping it
. I don't understand why you keep calling it complicated, it's a dirty business. Everyone knows that while the Rockets were waiting their full 3 days to match, that they were in contact with DMo/His agent. Surely it didn't take Morey 3 days to decide that the contract they have signed now would be better than the offer sheet. It's not that far of a stretch to wonder if they discussed the subject of more money for moving the contract guarantee dates back. Many on here speculated as such. None of that is a stretch or complicated. All they had to do then was say, don't show up for the physical once we match, then after a few days we will void the match, sending you back into RFA, and simultaneously sign you to a new deal. Whether this is what happened or not is not as important. The league and other teams seeing that it is POSSIBLE, may be trying to find a way to make it palatable, or to never happen again...because it would set a bad precedent for RFA maybe.
This is not true, DMo was fine with the Rockets matching, but clearly BJ had no clue about them not having to match the incentives too. DD
Agreed Point is he didn't report and not showing up wasn't a preconceived plan. per the conspiracy theory FanSince86 is tossing around in his mind for funzies
NBA.com: http://www.nba.com/article/2016/12/12/morning-tip-donatas-motiejunas-restricted-free-agency "Finally, though, the Rockets and Motiejunas split the difference -- in essence, they threw out the offer sheet, which is, again, allowed under the rules -- and started over, with a new contract. The new deal essentially is the same as the old one, with a couple of tweaks. It’s for $37 million, without all the incentives."
lulz at David Aldridge saying there are no incentives. He needs to read BimaThugs contract details article, I guess. Man that dude puts out bad info. that article was just rehashing history. We just went back a week in time reading that article, and Aldridge got the details wrong.
More like everybody that wanted him to sign the QO and the $7 million guaranteed deal have shut up. They're all deflecting on me because they want their stupid posts to be ignored. Ha.
The difference is nobody but you claimed to have any "insider" info and insist they knew what was going to happen. Member Yule C? What's there to C again? That RFA is #DirtyBusiness? Well no shlt.
You just don't get it. Sorry, but there's only so many times I can beat you over the head with my TrueInsider™ info. Why don't you bust out the CBA and do some studying? I can't hold everyone's hand here at once. Gotta run. That insider newsletter isn't gonna write itself. Jewel Sea
