    1,517,747 / 15,701 = 96.66562639322336156932679447169.

Then, apply the reverse 20-80 rule:
    96.66562639322336156932679447169 * 80 / 20 = 386.66250557289344627730717788676.

So, you are NOT a lurker if your post count is greater than 387:cool:

    Omigod! Antisonic! You're still here!

Check out the member number there, guys- #9. Back in the days when being anti-Sonic meant something.

    Oh- I lurk too.

I post here in waves (the entire BBS actually), but I read all the threads just about everyday ---- I think I might cry if the D and D were shut down. :(

    /not really :)

I've begun posting recently, and even started a few threads, but I consider myself a lurker for this forum. Things get out of hand, but usually there are some interesting factoids (who came up with that word?) that are brought up. This forum is actually one of the main reasons I'm leaning towards who I'm leaning in the Presidential race. Andy's drug threads are very intriguing to me and have gotten me to realize the problem we have with the prohabition of mar1juana.

To all the posters in this forum, I value all your opinions, but tend to take them with a grain of salt when you take to personal attacks. You have gotten me interested in politics like nothing ever has before, and I would hate it if this forum shut down.

Ah, Batman knows a thing or two about lurking... long time lurker himself of the BBS as a whole. When heyp lured you out into the open, who knew what a posting w**** you'd become? Pushing 4,000 now! :D S'all good... just jerking your chain. I like reading your takes on stuff and tend to agree with you a lot.

I already posted some thoughts on this forum in Chance's thread. I'm not an avid poster anyway, but I'm only a lurker in here. I only chimed into the other thread because it seemed like the regulars needed to think about the larger audience that's paying attention.

I learn about a lot of stuff I'm unlikely to pick up anywhere else, just due to the amazing diversity of this community. After thinking about it some more, I don't really mind the extremism in here either, so long as a point is being made. Those opinions are real, and they invite opposing viewpoints to counter them. The give and take is very enlightening sometimes. What drags the place down is when folks get geared up and let their emotions rule the keyboard and forget about making any point at all. That, and the occasional troll looking to incite a riot. Don't feed the trolls.

Since the Crew volunteers their time to moderate the board, I'd sure understand if this became too much of a pain in the ass to keep up. But, I hope it doesn't come to that.

Another long time lurker that enjoys reading the forum most of the time. I do learn a lot from reading people's take on both sides, even the one that I do not agree with.

I learned to deal with bad threads by skipping over bad posters' take or the entire thread all together. There are only a few unpleasant posters in this forum; therefore I think the good outweighs the bad in this forum.

I really enjoy the forum and read nearly every thread, for at least the first few pages. I also work and go to school full time, so time is an issue for me and this board serves as a news source. The give and take amongst the regular posters is entertaining and allows for a greater understanding of the other side's point of view on the issues.
I think some of the moderators' complaints are valid, but the bbs would certainly be lacking without the debate forum. I think some of what goes on in here is just a reflection of where public discourse is at in the media and politics in general. Bill O'Reilly wins debates moreso by talking over his opponent/guest than with facts and sound reasoning. And both parties use the "shoot the messenger" approach anytime someone is forthcoming with anything damaging to their side. The media allows them to criticize the person, while getting away with not actually addressing the substance of the charge.

I lurk here occasionally, I use to lurk more but it's gotten so ridiculous lately. It seems like the Rep/Dem pissing matching go nowhere and you can always tell whose going to chime in to try and one-up the other one. It's pathetic. It's like I post something in the GARM and people get their panties in a knot, then I come here and people are 1000 times worse, but it's okay for some reason. And the funny thing is that some people actually think they know everything that is going on in politics because they read some internet source or some overexaggerated NY times or whatever source. Cmon guys, every media source has some bias, yet whenever a story is favorable with their political affliation, it's thrown up on this board like "see! this is why this guy sucks! see! HAHA!" "Take that Rep/Dem loser!" Good grief.

All the Rep/Dem on this bbs can't actually say they know the whole truth about their party. Oh, they know the issues they 'say' they'll stand on, but (to me anyways)politics are just a bunch of guys trying to sell themselves to people with lies, emotional speeches, mudslinging, and empty promises...yet their average joe supporter will support them like they're a member of their family. The crazy part is that no matter how much one of their guys breaks the law, has questionable character issues, lies, or misleads the public, they'll always stand next to them. It makes no sense. It's just like a religion...most people, no matter what other information they learn, will always stick with what they're parents raised them to be and follow it like it's the rightous truth when it's probably nowhere near the truth. Whatever.

I guess every once in awhile I'll learn something new in this forum, if anything its helped me utilize and stick with the ignore list better than I use to. :p

Yeah, I've said before I'm a perfect example of being careful what you wish for.

ChrisP: Do I know you from outside the site? Are you a friend of Kilian's that I (at least once) shot pool with at Rudz?

Most threads have about a 10:1 views/posts ratio. I think it's kind of funny that one about lurkers has about a 20:1.

Yep. I think the Texas Guinness Lovers were on the stage. We've crossed paths a few other times too. We have theater in common, though we've never worked together.

Speaking of Kilian... he's going to be bringing his Chicago band into town to play at Rudz in November. If you're around for that, we could have a round or two of Shiners and play a few games again.

Dude, were you really born on new year's eve? That would make for some crazy birthday parties.

Thought so, Chris. Good to confirm. And I know we'd met other places -- just remembered that pool game.

I'm off Shiner now. Lone Star all day and night when I'm in Texas. At Rudyards it's $2 for canned tallboys and you really can't beat that. I'm in Pittsburgh now so it's Iron City or Yuengling or Penn Pilsner. When in November though? There's a very small chance I'll make it down for Thanksgiving as my old theater company makes a b****in meal. Otherwise I'm gonna get out to Chicago before too long and hang out with Kilian.

I'll definitely be there round Christmas though. Email me through the board if you want to go up to Rudz and catch a game together. In fact, that goes for all cc.net'ers.

Oh, and no, I wasn't born on New Year's. That's a glitch in the bbs -- a lot of people have that. I was born March 29, just like Clutch.

I guess I'm a semi-lurker. I read more than I post. I would like to post more but lousy work and other stuff gets in the way of waht I really want to do in life which is post on Clutchfans.net D&D forum 24/7. ;)

I forgot who said it but, "Of course its not fun. That's why its called work. If it was fun it wouldn't be work."

    ROLL ON YOU BEARS!!!

I know what you mean. Most people forget that a large portion of Cal's students come from SoCal where Nixon, Reagan and B-1 Bob came from.

Also Berkely does have the effect of radicalizing people who go there because more than indoctrinating people to be liberals it indoctrinates people to be radical. So someone who might just be a run of the mill conservative might become a radical conservative at Berkeley.

As for me I was a run of the mill moderate and am now a radical moderate.
