You really think that in general parents are telling their kids "since grandpa has cancer you need to wear a mask so you lessen your chances of getting COVID and killing him"?
Well... another of your bullshit takes. Not sure how he won https://www.espn.com/tennis/story/_...okovic-withdraws-us-open-travel-united-states
Wear a mask or don't. It's your right. But don't b spreading misinformation about the effectiveness of mask in general. There's a reason y folks in the health profession wears mask and it's not bc its a fashion statement. I swear the way u folks act regarding vaccination and Mask remind me of the the meme where folks would spend years of learning in med school/higher education, earn their license just for their parents to ignore their med advice since they would Google and listen to the words of clowns.
The threat of Long Covid is still with us. New Research: Long Covid Accounts For One-Third Of Unfilled Jobs They can't put off dealing with this forever, long covid affects too many people. And many of those people are desperate, because it's almost impossible to get disability payments for something you can't prove you have. Via CNBC.com: There are 10.7 million unfilled jobs in the U.S., according to the latest data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Some economists point to the high numbers of workers quitting amid the Great Resignation. New research highlights another troubling factor that may bear part of the blame: long Covid. A Brookings Institution report published Wednesday says an estimated 16 million Americans between ages 18 to 65 are experiencing Covid symptoms long after infection. The condition, dubbed long Covid, can include brain fog, fatigue, breathing problems, muscle pain, headache, chest pain and even anxiety or depression — all symptoms that can make it challenging for people to work. The report estimates that 2 million to 4 million of those people are currently out of work due to long Covid. That’s almost as high as the number of Americans who quit their jobs each month amid the Great Resignation: About 4.2 million quit their jobs in June and nearly 4.3 million quit in May and April, respectively, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. In other words, the jobs lost to long Covid could make up about a third of the country’s current labor shortage. And the Brookings report says it’s costing the U.S. economy in a significant way. A July 2021 study from the Patient-Led Research Collaborative measured the condition’s effect on patients’ work over the course of seven months. Only about 27% of long Covid patients worked as many hours as they did before failing ill. Roughly 23% weren’t working at all, as a direct result of long Covid. That included being on sick leave, disability leave, quitting, being fired or being unable to find a job that would accommodate them.
People don't want to work or are silent quitting. It's real hard to sort out whether it's "Long Covid", remote work in isolation, or just not GAF.
This. Unsurprisingly, at least in Germany, "long covid" rates are much higher among teachers and public administration employees - "with all due respect" to our leftist teacher friends here - from my point of view, these are professions with a higher percentage of DGAF people to start with. "Long DGAF"
More likely, it is due to parents discouraging or prohibiting their children from taking the proper precaution of wearing masks, thereby continuing the spread to teachers and students. Fuse lit...ATW, blast off incoming...
2 out of 20 kids in my daughter's class are still forced to wear (cloth...) masks all day by their parents. I feel sorry for them.
Who cares. each parent has their own way of parenting. U don't like folks telling u to mask up your kids, im pretty those parents will feel the same if folks ask why they are "forcing" their kids to wear mask.
I am all for parental rights, just like Governor DeSantis. So I am not questioning the parents' rights to make those decisions. That doesn't mean I can't still feel sorry for the children for having to wear them all day. Similarly, I feel sorry for women being forced to wear a hijab all the time. Doesn't mean I would prohibit them from wearing it (except in certain situations where the face needs to be shown for security reasons, etc.).
