Again nothing is ever certain in science or really in life. This again comes down to likelihoods not certainties.

in the case of a highly contagious disease, yes if you limit your exposure to other infected people the chances of getting infected are reduced. This why we had lockdowns land other restrictions. A disease that primarily infects the respiratory tract it is likely that finding ways to protect the respiratory tract will be helpful which is why we consider masking. The immune system is adaptive so yes exposing people to something that is similar to a virus but doesn’t cause the disease is a way of training the immune system thus vaccines. That sometime these things don’t work doesn’t mean we should abandon all of those measures.

What do you think of the impact of science and forced shutdowns on animals like monkeys?

Again, why is it that part of the virus is more dangerous than the full virus? Can anyone answer this f'ing question?

Interestingly enough - lockdowns appeared to be highly effective pre-vaccine in limiting infections.

In regards to Stupak - an ENT / Plastic Surgeon, I was looking at his twitter feed and some of his claims - like the virus goes everywhere (in regards to the effectiveness of masks). I was surprised by that statement - one often pushed by Trump supporters given he is an ENT.

The physics of masks are actually really really really complex. And thats' because the physics of viral transmission via air is also complex. People don't know that the coronavirus requires to be in a certain size water droplet or the virus falls apart. So while a mask only blocks water droplets of a certain size, what gets missed is that most of the water droplets that do get through a mask are small enough that they evaporate by the time they reach another person. It's the bigger water droplets that are more a threat - the ones not too heavy that they immediately fall to the ground but are able to float around in the air and yet large enough not to evaporate right away. Interestingly enough, relative humidity comes into play as well in terms of transmission. The other factor that is often neglected is that it takes more than one virus getting into your mucous membranes to infect a cell. It has to be enough to overwhelm your bodies base level defenses. So anything that reduces the amount of virus getting into you is beneficial. Also may explain why Omicron is so much more infectious even with mask wearers than Delta given that since it infects the upper respiratory system it takes a lot less virus to do the job.

All you have to do is order drinks or eat food on the plane to get the mask off.
it should be voluntary or if you are stuck sitting next to elderly people, it might be a courtesy.

I just got back after a flight that got delayed and diverted and then diverted back. During almost that whole time kept my mask on. It wasn't fun but it wasn't misery or torture. No one that I'm aware of on the plane complained and the staff didn't even have to announce to people to keep their mask on.

I agree that it's time for the transportation mask mandate to be lifted but calling it things like misery and torture is yet more hyperbole.

Well, the CCP shut everyone up about covid origins, including the WHO, all while clamping down on Hong Kong's nuts,

I doubt any outsider will speak up about their day to day oppresion
