It's a tragedy that the Western world followed China (where all of this pandemic originated, and the government of which was happy to export it to the entire world) by combating the pandemic in a way that ignores civil liberties almost completely. Leftists, but not only leftists, are trying to use the pandemic to advance their anti-freedom agenda wherever they can. This Covid theater needs to stop. Governor de Santis is right.

Pretty incredible and just goes to show how wrong the "COVID is just a COLD" crowd really is.

This is extremely selective picking of countries. To say New Zealand or Singapore "had more freedom" than the United Kingdom is completely ridiculous. It also completely ignores other effects of zero covid policies, like depression in children, suicide rates going up, etc.

The zero covid crowd is wrong, and picking random statistics to claim that civil liberty - destroying approaches worked better will not change that.

The proponents of mask mandates, vaccine mandates and lockdowns need to understand that they are essentially advocating following the dystopian Chinese authoritarian approach, where freedom and basic rights mean nothing, and the government can do with you whatever it pleases, always "justified" by an allegedly higher cause.

All these "no covid" and "zero covid" proponents - this is what your disrespect for individual basic rights ultimately leads to.

Which part of the statistics do you not like? Total # of death per thousands? # of day without covid? Economic impact? # days of masking? # of lockdown days? Days staying home or isolated? Need to be more specifics...

For death, it's very clear that early and hard suppressions until vaccines were the right strategy. What's a bit surprising is that might also be the case for economics and freedom. I haven't seen the stats on that but it wouldn't surprise me if suppression was the right one for those two also.

Toddlers can not spread the virus?

Do you have a link to a medical journal for this claim?

My wife (thankfully vaccinated) caught COVID last year and we later learned that our 4 year old granddaughter also had a mild case. Our granddaughter was hanging all over her prior to my wife catching COVID. While it is clearly not 100% that she caught it from her, it is overwhelmingly likely.

Of course they can spread it, how is that even a question. But that doesn't mean they should be the only ones being masked.

This is the tweet that YOU posted

NYC Mayor Adams ... maybe he will realize it isn’t the toddlers spreading the virus and will unmask the innocent kids.
which begs the question I asked.

Maybe you should stop posting stupid sh*t, so you won't get called out for it?

One gets to wear a mask if
    • one flies on a plane
    • one goes to the doctor office
    • businesses that request one do so
    • etc
Perhaps you should goggle the word ... only

I had a coworker about 15 years ago who sold her house in California when she accepted a transfer to Texas. Bought her house for cash and pocketed the rest.
